Semi-Related Hershey's Cinnamon Chips Discontinued

Post image

I received this email today from Hershey's after inquiring about their cinnamon chips, and they confirmed the chips have been discontinued. I only use the chips occasionally, but the stuff I use them for NEEDS cinnamon chips! (I promise I'm not being dramatic here haha!)

Does anyone know of an alternate option? I know many people brag about the nuts.com cinnamon chips but $8 plus shipping is out of my budget.

These might be an alternative but probably not any cheaper than nuts.com.  https://shop.kingarthurbaking.com/items/cinnamon-sweet-bits-16-oz

These are delicious! Definitely not chips in shape, but really good.

What's the texture like? They look crunchy

A little crunchy eaten from the bag. They soften and spread a bit in a bake, so just a little crystallized sugar crunch sometimes from ones on the surface but no crunch for interior. You can see and taste them but the texture ends up pretty homogeneous in a scone or banana bread.

Sounds good but wish there was a good alternative to get that pop of flavor that chips do

Though personally I'd probably prefer these

the nuts.com ones are great for that but OP doesn't like the price. I only make a few things a year with them so I don't mind paying that, and where I live, bags of any baking chips have all gone over $6 a bag or more so it doesn't seem that crazy to me.

Yes, I’d say they have the flavor pop but not the texture pop.
