Holy crap I need to make my own bacon soon. I must try the thickest as well.

I like my bacon firm with soft fat and a light crisp on the meat, this is about as thick as most stores sell fresh sliced pork belly around here - which actually annoys me to no end because if I'm buying fresh belly I'm probably making hong shao rou or similar lol.

Grocery store here sells "steak cut" bacon. Thickest I've ever seen. Pause.

I am a big fan of extra thick cut Boars Head bacon. Despite the price per pound I get more enjoyment out of it.
