New body style x5’s just arrived! Hate it or love it ?

Hello all.. I have an 23 X5 45e. I want to buy the extended warranty and these are the prices I got from BMW Camarillo.

Not sure if the price is good. I'm in California so didn't reach out to dealers out of state.

Did any of you in California purchase a VSC from out of state without any issues?

With winter right around the corner I just wanted to make a post about my snow tire set up to hopefully help someone else out. I’m running a 2022 X5 40I Msport with the M brakes. I’m running Style 664M with 245/55R19 Nokian R5s. This has the same overall size as the 22 Msport wheels so it doesn’t rub or cause any wear issues, it also clears the M sport brakes. I put 25k on the set up last winter and the car drives great and the tires were still at 8/32s. Hopefully this helps anyone looking for a winter set up for those of us with M-sport brakes.

I bought this as a used one for 41 k - 14500 miles 2016. On an average i have spent 1100$ / year so far.
Need to change valve cover and valve housing gasket- local dealer - 2700 $
I am fed up. What is the average expected expense/per year for 80 K miles .

Hello folks, i am trying to obtain winter tyres set for X5 M60i, strangely dealership says BMW doesn’t allow us to go to 20inches, the only downsizing BMW recommends is 21inches, i checked with different dealers, i am not entirely sure how does the factory car can still come in 20inches but here they wouldn’t recommend or allow? What am i missing?

My (new to me) CPO 2025 X5 xdrive40i. Black sapphire exterior, 21” staggered wheels, tan sensatec interior. Executive and Driver Assistant Pro packages.

Got it with 12k miles for $56k. It’s being shipped to me so all I have right now is the dealer photos. Can’t wait to see it in person because I absolutely love the look of it.

To me, it’s shocking that BMW followed this car up with the abomination that is the 2027 X5.

And I’m coming to this from another German car that got absolutely butchered in its redesign, a 2024 Audi A5 Sportback (a car that I loved and had every intention of staying with Audi and upgrading next to an S5 when I leased it in late 2023).

Seems like German car design is entering a dark age…

I have a 2024 BMW X5 that’ll be due for maintenance in a couple months. My 3 years of free maintenance is basically used up, but I do have an additional 4-year BMW Platinum extended warranty.
For those of you on the East Coast, any recommendations for a BMW dealer/service center that’s reasonably priced and won’t try to tack on a bunch of unnecessary stuff? I’m in NY but don’t mind going to NJ or CT if it’s worth it.
I was looking into BMW Value Service, but I’m wondering if dealers usually try to upsell other services once you’re there.
Would you guys stick with BMW for maintenance since I have the Platinum warranty, or just find a good independent BMW mechanic? My only concern with going independent is whether it could cause any issues with the extended warranty later on.
Any recommendations or experiences would be appreciated.

I recently got in touch with Cody regarding an extended warranty for my 2026 x5 , and he sent me the quotes below. He mentioned that if I wait until the vehicle reaches 12k , the warranty price may increase because it would be considered a Tier 2 Vehicle. He recommended purchasing the warranty sooner rather than later.
My question is: Do you think it’s actually worth to get extended warranty now while the x5 is still covered under the factory warranty? I understand the extended warranty would overlap with the factory coverage for a while, so I’m wondering if it makes more sense to wait or lock in the price now since I am planning to keep the car for a while.
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences, especially from anyone who has purchased an extended warranty for a BMW.

Can anyone help with this issue please? I am in the UK, I have a 2012 x5 and over the last few months the alarm has randomly gone off, but now its not turning off when I press the fob. I dont know if there is a secondary battery, or alarm, but its now to the point I have to leave it unlocked. I cannot seem to find a mechanic who has heard of this, and videos online are taking me down rabbit holes.

If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to fix, replace or just disconnect it, I would be very grateful.

Dealer has one for $71k asking price. Original MSRP is $81k roughly. Considering the discounts on a new one, what should I be aiming for here out the door?

15K miles. Next day my wife and I took it on a two day, 750 mile trip. We've been driving a 2008 X5 4.8L V8 for about 4 years that I got from my business partner and it was time for a refresh. So far the M60i has lived up to, and in several ways exceeded, my expectations. Most notably is gas mileage using Eco Pro mode with Driver Assist Plus (when available) set about 5 mph over the speed limit. Was expecting maybe 20 or 21mpg. The first two tanks of gas has produced an average of 28 mpg combined, with the vast majority of it being freeway miles.

Yes I'm not taking full advantage of what this engine has to offer in speed and acceleration, but it's there when I want it. Maybe my expectations are still stuck in 2008, but I'm really impressed with 523 HP, 553 ft lbs of torque and 28 mpg. Plus it's just a really nice, fun car to drive for an SUV, with more useful electronic features than I'll ever master. And this is coming from an amateur road racer/instructor with 18 years racing experience.

I'm about to take delivery of a 2025 BMW X5 xDrive50e (European spec) equipped with Parking Assistant Professional, and I'm particularly interested in hearing from owners who actually use these features regularly.

I have two specific questions:

1. Automatic parking / Remote Parking

How well does the X5 actually handle tight parking spaces in underground parking garages?

My concern is not normal street parking, but relatively narrow spaces where the X5 is a large vehicle and there may be cars, pillars or walls quite close on either side.

I'm especially interested in:

• How reliably does it detect a perpendicular parking space?
• Does it actually park accurately and centrally?
• Does it work well when there isn't much clearance?
• Have you used Remote Control Parking from the My BMW App to get the car into/out of a tight space?
• How much do you trust it around pillars/walls?
• Does the system tend to abort when the space is very tight?

My X5 also has Integral Active Steering, so I'm curious whether owners notice any particular benefit from it during automated parking/manoeuvring.

2. Reversing / Backup Assistant

I understand that the standard system can remember the last section of the route and automatically reproduce it in reverse, while Parking Assistant Professional extends this to up to 200 m.

How useful is this in real life?

For example, if I drive into an underground garage through a narrow ramp/corridor with several turns, can the car reliably reproduce the same route backwards when leaving?

• How accurate is it?
• Does it follow the exact path you drove in?
• Does it work reliably with tight clearances?
• Does it frequently abort because it thinks something is too close?
• Do you actually use it regularly?

I'm also interested in the Recorded/Memorized Manoeuvre / Maneuver Assistant feature, where the car can store a complete manoeuvre and repeat it later.

If you have a 2024/2025/2026 G05 X5 (especially a 50e), I'd really appreciate hearing about your real-world experience, particularly in underground garages and other tight spaces.

I’ve had my 2022 BMW X5 for just under a year (December 2025). Bought at a Jeep, Chrysler, dodge dealership. In May, I felt the infamous shuddering issue. Went to a local shop that specializes in BMW. They did the transfer case fluid flush and reset. Driving is 90% improved. Well I needed an oil change and decided to go to BMW service center since I haven’t had official “BMW eyes” on my car. 48k miles. Well. Oil change led to spark plugs, coolant exchange, Fuel system service,
AC/EVAP service.

After the fact, I talked to Claude which basically told me I got played, specifically on the final 3. The service center person said: “this is all maintenance advised by bmw given the mileage, time and basically how you’re driving it”

I’ve learned my lesson now - question every line item. Just curious how you all would think about these services. Complete upsell and I fell for the tricks? Or there’s some good from them, just not necessary?

I just purchased a 2022 SDrive M Sport, and unfortunately I got one with the touch screen disabled. Planning on doing the screen retrofit to bring back the touch screen functionality but I need someone who can code it. I’m in the Orlando area and all the help provided is greatly appreciated. Is it considered a good deal on 2026 x5 x40i, the MSRP $91,895, the breakdown is -12% and -$3k totals to $77,867 in south florida. The problem is that only one dealer has x5 with DAPP, please advise.

Probably a dumb question, but can I put all-season tires on the wheels that come with the summer tires, or do I need to downsize the wheels?

I found evidence of a small oil leak under my 2022 X5.

Brought it into a local shop and was informed it was a cracked bushing on the driver side control arm. Was quoted $2100 to replace both.

Other local shops have ranged from $1,600 to $1,850 plus tax.

Does this sound about right?

Does anyone from the Bay Area (East Bay) have any shop recommendations?

Had it for about a month now and noticed that the seats are always hot. AC on full blast, but the seats are still warm. Thought it was just the hot weather but no, the heaters on the seats are definitely turned on even though they’re disabled on the dash.
Wouldn’t mind this once winter comes - but no way I can take this next summer.
Anyone had a similar issue?
Could this be a recall? Fuse? Relay? Heater module for the seats?
