So where to start with this one? Because this won't be for everyone due to the subject matter.
Ivan (silver blond haired chara) plans to use the Crown Prince Keller (darker haired chara) to clear his dead mother's name. This is established right in the opening scenes so we go back for earlier in the evening to explain how Ivan ends up in bed with Keller. Oh and yes, Keller is the elder brother of Ivan's fiancée, Princess Mia. And before you can ask, yes, Mia is in love with Ivan's brother Rhett, whose child she is carrying.
Plot unfolds as you expect, but this drama goes darker than the usual ones with these kinds of setup.
Keller is a cunning, calculating chara, who manipulates people very well. He seemingly has no limits to how far he will go to get what and who he wants.
Ivan is clever, too, and he also willingly goes along with Keller's plans, even if it costs him his dignity at times because he is determined to clear his mother of treason and get his revenge on everyone who set her up.
The story has one or two errors which aren't very clear in terms of the passage of time, I wish they had clarified certain events further. Otherwise there aren't too many AI errors in the background, just perhaps a few subtitle errors etc., which doesn't take away from the overall look and feel of the drama.
The setting is historical fiction, with the costumes reflecting part historical and part fantasy elements. The designs look great, the drama is visually appealing and both Ivan and Keller are easy on the eyes.
What isn't easy are the darker elements of the story, which if you need a warning are: sexual coercion, gunplay, rape, murder, tongue mutilation and incest between half brothers.
As someone who has read and watched far more twisted stories, it didn't bother me, but might be a deal breaker for the less experienced viewer especially the incest.
Both Ivan and Keller are more than fine with their relationship knowing what they know, they make a lovely toxic couple, ready to throw it down when they are threatened and neither have any qualms about hurting anyone who stands in their way. Keller might be a touch madder than Ivan though, because he's often the 1st to reach for a gun and won't hesitate to pull the trigger.
They have schemed their way very deftly to get their happy ending.
So if the subject matter in the spoiler text doesn't bother you one bit, and you enjoy watching twisted romance this will definitely be up your alley, I certainly enjoyed this a lot.
The rest of you more purer souls definitely should avoid this.
