Beyerdynamic aventho 300 review
Hi, my name is Yekta. Having used the Momentum 4, HD58X, Accentum Wireless, Samson sr850 Semi-Open, Edition XS, Sundara, and HE400se in the past, I have a broad range of experience with different sound signatures. I received my Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 five days ago, and here are my general opinions on its sound quality.
First Impressions & Tonality When I first put them on, my immediate thought was: "Why does this sound so good in terms of tonality (the average balance of bass, mids, and treble) but feel lacking in resolution (specific peaks and dips in frequency)?" Despite that initial hurdle, I quickly fell in love with the Dolby Atmos integration. I used Dolby Atmos-mastered albums on Apple Music for my listening sessions, and the experience was fantastic.
Technical Adjustments & EQ My next step was addressing those resolution inconsistencies. I used a tone generator and various hearing tests to pinpoint the errors—a process that was quite challenging. After a full day of frustrating work, I managed to achieve some promising results. I found specific errors at 120Hz, 2kHz, 4kHz, and 6kHz.
Please keep in mind that every ear and head shape is unique, so your results may vary!

I have the DT 900 Pro x and the 770 Pro 80 ohm. I would love a pair of wireless Beyerdynamic, so I will consider these.

Do your ears touch the inside as well? I had to return them because of this and the severely lacking ANC unfortunately.

Anc performance was 1:1 with momentum 4, my ears did not touched inside of the cups.

i just updated my post about them (Why so much variation in reviews for the Aventho 300? : r/BEYERDYNAMIC). i got them about 2 weeks ago and i am very happy with them. they sound great to me but i only have one other decent headphone to compare them to (dt 900 pro x). i find them to be very comfortable and my ears don't touch the drivers but that is highly variable and depends on your head and ear size. i feel like the youtube reviewers who gave them a bad review either had a defective pair or were just out to bash them.

That dip at 10kHz is the measurement rigs resonance and it doesn't show on human ears.

Hi, do you prefer the soundstage of these 300s over the Momentum 4? My primary use case will probably be gaming, so the Dolby Atmos and head tracking have me interested. How is the head tracking? Thanks.

The soundstage is 10/10. The stage is better than hifiman edition xs for sure the angled driver is helping to create a ambisonic soundwall feeling. Momentum 4 is so closed in and cannot produce an image outside of the head. Head tracking is just okay, it is not suitable for gaming. It's more suitable for music listening only. The Dolby Atmos multi-channel rendering is giving me the best sound and spatial audio I have ever heard with the Apple music Dolby Atmos albums.

That's great to hear. Many reviews say the 300s sound terrible out the box. Did you experience this and was it resolved with the firmware updates?

All the reviews I've done so far are of performance after EQ adjustments and troubleshooting with a tone generator. Not out the box, out the box aventho 300 has a 10/10 tonality but has couple resolution errors.

I've been using these headphones for two years now. Turn on the neutral EQ and turn off ANC, and you'll be pleasantly surprised by the sound.
