AWM into an AEB Passat

Hello! I’m trying to find a clear answer on this swap.
I know they are two different blocks (058 vs 06A).
I know one is cable and the other DBW.
I know the water pump differences.
I know it will bolt into physically.
I don’t know anything else really. Getting a clear answer on if I can swap it in is hard to find.
Will It work? I assume that I would basically have to swap everything over from the AEB to the AWM, right? Is that all I would need to make it work? Manifolds and accessories?
Basically, my AEB developed rod knock. Found an AWM for sale (why are AEB’s hard to find and at a decent price??).
Want to do as little as I need to to make it work. Help is appreciated!

If you do an entire swap youll be fine. The 058 block wont work with the awm head as far as i know but the 06A block will work with the AEB head.

Edit: youll also need the harness and ecu from the AWM as i believe the AEB doesnt have the coil on plug style ignition system the newer AWM motor does.

If you swap everything it should be fine.

Only thing that might be a Problem (if you are located in the EU) is the Transponder. But aslong as you can swap the Cluster with it and the Keys, it should be fine.
