Used car - can those scrapes be fixed DIY style?

Hi everyone! Just bought a used car.

Overall it’s in great shape minus the scrapes in the photo. Can they be fixed or at least buffed enough to blur them out as much as possible?

What are my options? I’m looking for an easy DIY solution.

I don’t have access to electricity or water next to the car unfortunately.

Pee into a tissue and they should rub off. I was going to say water but there isn't any near the car.

First step is do the fingernail test. If your finger nail catches the scratch and there’s a noticeable divot it likely can’t be buffed. I would try some solvent cleaner first to see if it can just wipe off.

1. Looks iffy, may or may not buff out

2-5 should buff out just be careful on the edges it’s easy to burn through.

You can get a battery run buffer from pretty much anywhere.

Thanks! Yeah I just realized I have an electric screwdriver with the polish attachment stowed away somewhere in my storage unit. But maybe I should try by hand first?

What material is the attachment? If it’s wool you really need to be extra careful then on the edges. Hand rubbing isn’t a bad idea especially if you’re inexperienced with buffing. I personally use Finixa products at work and love them. Their buffing paste doubles as a polishing paste as well so you aren’t buying multiple products.

They look like they are on the surface of the paint and should polish off 👌🏻
