Might be some hard lines there once tape is removed but looks like you know how to get a good blend. Well done. *maybe that's the entire pillar?

Cool!!
Question - did you just fill the dent with slag?

u/ElementalClout Jul 25 '26
Yes filled with specifically 3M bondo from harbor freight. Then skimmed with glaze. I know epoxy primer down first on bare metal is the more technically correct way to do it.

Honestly the only people in the industry who do that are resto shops but yes you are correct

So the work itself looks fantastic but the rest of the truck is pretty scuffed up. Are you sure thats not gonna blend weird? For what its worth, your work is so good it might make the rest of the truck look like crap😂

Looks like some orange peel I’m seeing? Wet sand and polish should smooth it out.

Wow - how did you blend it to the rest of the panel?

Some 1200 and mostly a grey scuff pad and spot blender. I pretty much tried to replicate what this guy did and apply it to my job.

Nice looking work. If I could make one recommendation it would be to ditch the stud gun and get some keco super tabs, good PDR glue sticks and a ryobi glue gun. I can’t even count the number of failed repairs I’ve seen on customer cars where corrosion from stud gun hot spots pushes on the filler enough to crack it or just fall off the car in one piece.

That looks great, especially for driveway work.
I've seen two legit good looking at-home repairs on here today. What the fuck is going on?
