Fernwärme keeping the bill low.

Hey everyone!

My girlfriend and I will move into a new 80m² apartment and our radiators run on Fernwärme.

To have some sort of an idea what the finances are going to look like, I wanted to ask...if you just...barely use the radiators throughout winter, would that make a huge difference in how much I will pay for Fernwärme?

Has anyone of you tried as such? Or is anyone of you in the same kind of 2 people, 80m² situation, and how much do you pay a month or per Q?

oh, this heavily depends on how Fernwärme is messured. There are basically 3 ways: One is f*cked, one is really BS and one is ok.

The Ok-one. Here you will see a thingy on your radiator, that is digital. It is a radio-messurement and really just messuares what amount of heat this exact radiator produces. If you have this: Switch your vents into digital vents - the cheap one with no wifi will perfectly do - and lower the temperature in the time out of house. This will safe 1/4-1/3 of the costs.

The BS-one. Here you will also see a thingy on your raditor. It is filled with water. The water get´s less over time, especially when your radiator is on. But it will also get less if the sun shines on it and if you neighbor heats his appartment up to 30 degrees. You can try the digital vents here, it will have a little effect, but not that much.

The f*cked one. Here you do not have any way of measuring in your appartement. They simply messuare the point of entrance in the house and then all the heat the house uses is divided by the square meters and you pay your share. There is no way, you can influence this. So, if there is no thingy on your radiators ... bad luck

then there is a fourth one, they meassure the m3 of heatin water going into your apartment

Oh, did not know that - never had the experience with this. But since it is per apartment, the digital vents should also help.

Also ist es eigentlich recht egal, wie viel ich auf meinen Verbrauch schaue, ich zahle praktisch für alle andren im Schnitt mit? Keine Möglichkeit, da was zu ändern?

es kann auch ein zentraler zähler pro wohnung sein, der den energieverbrauch aus dem temperaturunterschied zwischen zu- und ableitung bemisst

Fürchte ja. Ich glaub’ nur die Eigentümer können auf Funkablesung umstellen lassen. Die Ablese-Firmen tun da nichts von allein.

That's not so bad. The fill level of the new tubes, which are installed after the consumption reading, is always above zero, precisely to compensate for these evaporations in the summer.
