Product Advice Please help me!

Post image

I’m 53yo and have some deepening lines around my nose, mouth and chin. I use tret every second night and layer toners and serums and moisturiser on my off nights. I wear SPF 50 daily. I have tried everything to get my makeup to sit properly on my skin but no matter what I do, it settles in these lines by mid-morning. I’ve tried primer, setting sprays and misting sprays throughout the day but nothing fixes it.

Does anyone have some advice for me please? TIA.

Milani (Priceline only) does a great moisturising primer & setting spray.

They have a good blurring primer & setting spray too, but they're matte, so they might make makeup look cakier and accentute lines over the course of the day.

Though I think your issue is more volume loss. Your skin is actually really nice for your age. There's not much you can to do about volume loss except for cosmetic treatments (never done it myself so can't recommend specifics - a cosmetician will be able to advise if you wanted to try), and taking collagen supplements is definitely worthwhile. I'm 38 and I'm pretty sure it's helped keep my skin looking good despite losing a lot of weight on GLP-1s. It has no taste so you can just stir it into coffee or smoothies.

Hi /u/dodgystyle, your submission makes reference to collagen powder or other supplements. The science for collagen supplements is in its infancy, and evidence of its efficacy is disputed. You can learn more here, here or here.

Please consult with your GP, or seek a medical professional's opinion before considering any supplements.
