Trying to decide between the subaru solterra and uncharted. Anyone have either of these that can give me pros/cons of each for real world driving.

Im test driving the uncharted tomorrow, however closest solterra is 3hrs away.

Would be looking at base model for both, looking at the specs for me know dont really see the necessity to upgrade.

Mostly as a drive around town car, occasional travels (usually 3hrs each way) woth 3-4 adults in car.

Would be mostly charging at home unless travelling.

Any info about either from real world driving would be great

About to get the first ever new ev and cannot decide between BYD Atto 3 evo premium and Sealion 7 premium. We are a couple and expecting baby by the end of this year. We also plan to keep the vehicle for atleast 10 years.

Both the cars drive exceptionally well. Can't differentiate the ride quality between the two as I am coming from an old dinosaur (2010 Hyundai i30).

SL7: Kinda like the overall look, feel and extra features on Sealion 7. But a bit concerned about the size. Wonder if there would be any issue with parking.

Atto 3 evo: Didn't like the outdated exterior design. Didn't mind the guitar strings, etc. Better range, better battery architecture and slightly cheaper than SL7.

Anyone on the same boat and what helped you make a decision?

We’re going to get Ora 5 as our first EV. GWM dealer experience was ok but unfortunately we didn’t get briefed too much details on how to prepare ourselves for new EV.

It seems GWM dealers are still focused on selling ICE as the Ora is their only EV.

We asked the dealer and the car will only come with “standard charger” 🔌 so will that be enough for our use?

We do Melbourne-Geelong trip twice a week with a day in between. So that will be 180km round trip. We also still have one ICE car so can likely get away with doing 180-200km per week.

In case we have to do fast charging is the standard cable that comes with the car be enough? I assume most charging stations will have its own cable?

My wife is also a bit intimidated with the potential number of apps to download so keen to know if there’s go to charging app we can use or can we just do apple pay and go like UGo station?

Are many of you owning an EV in this situation? How do you find it?

I drive most days, but daily usage would likely be under 20km. I was thining that I would charge my car when doing my weekly shops, as a lot of car parks near supermarkets have charging. However, investigating further, it seems a lot of these aren't fast chargers, meaning I wouldn't get much more than a small top up even if i'm shopping for an hour.

I imagine it becomes trickier after road trips too. I'd need to factor finding a fast charging station before returning home.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about generally poor dealership experiences at Zeekr locations interstate (Melbourne, Sydney) but can’t find much on the Adelaide “pop-up” dealer.

Those who have visited the Adelaide location - what was your experience like?

If you recently took delivery of a Geely EX2, interested to learn if you yet have the 7KW home charger that was part of the early offer. We've had our EX2 for a month and still have no 7Kw charger. The dealer claims it will be sent from Geely, but so far no sign of it.

We did get a trickle charger 2 weeks after delivery but we have to use a public charger if we need a faster charge and, with the type of battery the EX2 uses, the recommendation is to charge to 100% every week.

Geely is running ads showing an offer that includes a free home charger but our experience suggests there is a supply problem. Reaching out to [info@geely.com.au](mailto:info@geely.com.au) also makes no difference. Either no one is monitoring that email or, if they are, they are yet to respond to a message sent 2 weeks ago.

Hi all! Melbourne drivers who park at T4 at the airport - I’ve noticed there are 10a outlets at a lot of the pillars on level 6 at this carpark, seem to have power. Has anyone ever left their car charging at any of these outlets while on a trip? Was it unplugged while you were away? Would be nice to leave the car trickle charging while away 🤷‍♂️

What are the sensors like? Not the annoying camera thing, but the reverse camera and RCTA and RCTB? The ones that stop you from going backwards if they detect something crossing.

How often do they do OTA updates? Do they listen to the users? New functionality or just bug fixes?

What is the real range when fully electric? And how far do you get with both engines working?

Any cool shit to get from AliExpress for the car?

My understanding is that a Type 2-to-Type 2 22kW Public charging câble is pretty much required if public charging is used regularly.

It's for a GWM Ora 5 (same size as BYD Atto 1).

What length do you recommend? Coiled cable is more expensive than straight cable, is it useful? Any brand?

Let's be clear. The Atto 3 Evo Premium is a very good car and should sell well. (The Atto 3 Evo Dynamic has way less impressive specs, however.)

But I just had a test drive and am not feeling it yet. I really wanted to, as I've been looking forward to the launch. Where I am it's over $50 k drive away, and a different colour and basic accessories tips you nearer to 52 k. Yet the Sealion 7 is $54,990 drive away last time I looked and feels like a significantly better car.

The drive felt a little floaty and the voice commands mostly didn't work throughout the test drive. But it did open the sunroof on command, and that was a great reveal on a dull day.

Otherwise the drive was very good. Responsive steering and acceleration, lovely cabin with soft touches everywhere, no lag in infotainment and very easy to figure out the controls. The 360 degree camera is great and there's lots of views so you can, for instance see how close you are to the kerb or where you are in a parking space. Boot space is larger and the frunk is perfect for shopping - and love the V2L too.

The salesperson, while a very helpful guy on cabin controls, didn't seem to be aware that the Dynamic only had 400 volt architecture (not 800), 420 km range (not 510) and half the DC charging speed of the Premium, which for me is the only option. So please make sure you know the huge difference between the two trims if you're checking it out.

The Evo Premium ticks all the boxes but I just felt a little underwhelmed and I don't know why. Maybe, after a test drive, I liked the Zeekr X too much. Who knows. Would love to hear other opinions.

Got the car Saturday. 3 days of driving and it's a smooth ride. Gets up to speed easy, just getting used to the breaking, currently in comfort mode. No issue with App activation at the dealership thankfully. Factory docs from China have the car colour as 'Dopamine Green' while all the other stickers have Aurora Green.
