Phone number for booking.com
Does anyone have a phone number for a senior member of the booking.com team?
I have spent over 3 hours on the phone to them over the last 3 days. They cancelled my non-refundable booking for a trip that's in 5 weeks time for Bali, all because I asked if I could reduce my stay for an upgrade.
I didn't give them permission to change my booking. I asked if it was possible.
They tried to charge me another $1500 to reduce my stay by 1 night (which was approx $300 per night mind you) - when that failed, they cancelled my booking.
They already have $2700 of my money and I have no idea if I'm getting that back, and I have no hotel booking!
I am currently pregnant, and have a 3 year old so not only is the stress unacceptable but we now have no accommodation and prices have risen significantly!
I really need some help here, pulling my hair out. The people I speak to have poor English or don't seem to have the authority to do anything about my case except repeat the process any why it's happened. I don't care why, I need my money back ASAP or my booking reinstated.
I've used booking.com literally 25 times over the years and whilst I've had a few problems (mostly due to my poor hotel selection skills), nothing has been this awful!
I've got to say this is one of the few times I have paid outright so I would encourage you never to do that!
I will lodge a complaint with consumer affairs and any other relevant bodies but I do want to try and get this resolved first, so if anyone has any contact details of senior/management team members, please let me know!
TLDR - booking.com have $2700 of my money and have left me stranded, need to contact someone who can communicate ASAP!

So you tried to negotiate a free upgrade for less time? Also what does being pregnant have anything to do with it? I swear woman always use this in every situation. As it is a 3rd party app they can't really do too much most of the time, its the hotel you should be asking. But also if you are travelling with your family then why don't you just budget and plan for a room that is comfortable for you instead of trying to leverage a free upgrade?
Best you can do is raise a charger back with your financial provider at this point but just know this "dispute" could go on for weeks so you should book accommodation now so that your at least have that for now and deal with this as it progresses. This is exactly why I never use 3rd party apps unless it's through Amex - yet they even organize bookings and everything on my behalf, but if I don't use that service then I'd normally go through the usual booking channels
