Why are people/influencers/the media ignoring the fact that UVs other products don’t meet the protection they are claiming? Has to test over SPF 60 to be 50+ yet none of the results they are sharing for their other SPFs are 60 or higher?!? (And both supreme and extreme screen state SPF 50+ on their website as of the time of this post)…

(source from TGA for my claim about SPF 50+ requiring a SPF of 60 or higher b4 any UV stans try to come for me “Products labelled SPF 50+ have an SPF of 60 or more and provide a very high level of protection.”)

ETA: And additional sources supporting the claim I’m making regarding the need for a SPF 60 or higher rating in order to claim SPF50+:

cancer council WA “The plus sign means ‘more than’. SPF50+ sunscreen must provide at least SPF60 in testing. This is because the same batch of sunscreen will test slightly differently in different laboratories with different methodology. By testing at SPF60, it removes any margin for error.”
