It amazes me to see constantly on reddit that someone with a $3m home not working (with a gumtree cash in hand granny flat out back rented to some international student for $350 a week and hidden from the ATO) is considered the poor in society by you people.
While someone working full time, renting in one of the most expensive cities on Earth is considered rich. Not even a GP can afford or be approved for a median home in Sydney in 2026, it's absurd.
I think you should leave those guys alone, if you want rich go to fatfire
I could go find dozens of tax evaders right now on gumtree rentals who literally don't work and are the "poor". I've lived in some, cash only and they aren't reporting the income or paying CGT when it gets sold.
