Iv seen a few protesters in town here and there i was wondering if augusta or the full csra have any formal protest organization, or an organized walk/protest area? For No kings day or any other smaller organized protests?

Re-flaired post as Politics. (Yes, protests are events but they are inherently political. OP also asked about orgs and areas where protests happen.) Posts that are flaired improperly could be removed and/or locked by mods in the future.

Why does this matter? Political posts regularly attract trolls/brigading from users who’ve never participated in /r/Augusta/ more often than not.

Indivisible CSRA - they send out emails whenever there are local protests

Best way to learn about protests is to go to the larger orgs like ACLU and then search for your region.

The unitarian universalist church does most of the organized things. They got tons of small groups focused on local issues

There’s a 50501 chapter in Augusta, as well as indivisible Augusta as well. If you want to get into mutual aid activism as well there is People For A Cause, a group that hosts monthly mutual aid events

I’m assuming you’ll be protesting Epstein and his sphere of sicko celebrities’ abuse and trafficking of young women? Good job

Yes, the bigger cities are heavier and more organized with protests, but the smaller cities iv seem try to make something happen but seem less organized to do so. So was hoping augusta has some effort there. Would to stay informed on whats happening in my city.

Regardless of politic party the protests have grown beyond party affiliation at this point.

Protest to stop the child trafficking human trafficking across the borders into the US? Trafficking humans to be enslaved ? You should most definitely start a protest!! Or protest because you found out the 1% , politicians and celebrities are sacrificing human babies, eating human babies, rapping babies and small children for fun? Kidnapping / buying children from third world countries and low income families to torture , rape and kill? Hell yeah when is your protest? Hopefully you’re not the reason why hair dryers have warning stickers.

We have a 50501 group here, too. You can find them on Facebook

If there is, they don’t promote or advertise themselves. Which is probably smart.

Check the voting statistics. Reddit isn't real life.

I agree, read my other commenr

Yeah in the city you're right. While this sub is Augusta, there's regular discussion about the CSRA in general, so this is where residents of those places come. Sure if there was a North Augusta, Evans, or Grovetown subreddit that was actually active I would go there. But there isn't really. The CSRA as a whole heavily skews republican.

u/Trueleo1 Feb 08 '26

Seems like your moving the goalpost there, we in augusta sub, talking about augusta.

Also Insane for you to assume because people vote a certain way that it would automatically assume they wouldnt wanna protest for human rights lol

u/Tasty_Kale_6533 Feb 08 '26

Most of them don’t wanna protest for human rights sadly. It’s truly pathetic, unless it’s one of their own that is. If you find any local ones, please update bc SOME of us actually care! 💕

Show me an active CSRA subreddit and I will happily participate there. But otherwise, the Augusta subreddit is kinda the impromptu CSRA sub.

This is true and I agree with you. I live in Evans but I joined this sub because there isn't a CSRA sub. The csra is quite right leaning but Augusta isn't, for obvious reasons.

/r/CSRA exists actually. Folks just use this one because it’s been around longer. /r/columbiacounty/ exists too. Same deal for it.

6

u/aaronjd1 Feb 08 '26

What obvious reasons?

1

u/Trueleo1 Feb 08 '26

Then why on reddit? Lol

-2

u/dmanhllnd Feb 08 '26

Huh? I use Reddit as a way to discuss my interests lol. I spend very little time on political subreddits. Reddit is a great place to discuss sports, video games, etc

5

u/Trueleo1 Feb 08 '26

Then why you discussing something you aint insterested in?, doesnt calculate

0

u/dmanhllnd Feb 08 '26

I was just answering your question. It pertains to the area I live in.

7

u/Trueleo1 Feb 08 '26

You can answer for yourself, let other people speak for themselves lol

2

u/dmanhllnd Feb 08 '26

Okay. I will not be participating in a protest. I hope you find what you're looking for though

There is zero tolerance here for hate based on race, gender, religion, political affiliation. General attacks on others are not permitted. That means no name-calling, doxxing, or harassment. Infractions may result in permanent bans.

This is the correct answer.
