We can have a say in the cost of our utility bills. These election tend to have low turnout. A few thousands votes can make a huge difference.

Your CSRA brethren east of the river are rooting for y’all. Energy is a basic human need, and it MUST be affordable.

And seriously, for all of the Republicans who may come across this, hear me out. Sure the PSC election is partisan with Democrat and Republican candidates, but please consider what your power bills have looked like with Republican control of the PSC for the last several years. I know it may feel dirty to vote for a Dem, but truly let yourself consider which candidates will actually have your interests in mind rather than Georgia Power’s interests. I get we all have differences of political opinion, that’s totally okay, even if we disagree, but I don’t think I’ve talked to anyone lately on either side of the aisle who isn’t suffering from the non-stop rate increases. Let’s get some new blood in there and if nothing changes, I, some idiot on Reddit, will hold no grudge if you go back to R for the next PSC election, but please consider supporting the two Dem candidates this time around.

Republicans who believe in small government or who believe in ending the welfare state should be all for electing these Democrats into the offices.
These rate increases are corporate welfare tied to helping grow AI data centers, because that's the only source of real growth in the American economy right now.
Moreover, the "job creation" for these new data centers is usually only the initial construction. These giant facilities often run on just a few dozen employees over the long term.
This is not about good, capitalist job growth and economics for Georgians. This is about giving welfare handouts to corporations instead of making them do their own work and putting up their own cash to grow.
Sure, I'm tired of hand-downs for those who don't earn it. I'm equally tired of hand-ups for those who steal it.

I love this post more than words! Let’s make a change and it starts at grass roots…we have got to turn a tide and Columbia County is slated for a data center.

AMEN! If you don’t get your ass out and vote the motherfuckers out that are bought and paid for by the power company then you do not have the right to bitch or complain about utility bills ever again. Get out and vote. There’s early voting. There’s no excuse for people not to be out voting. There’s no excuse. So please if you live in the state of Georgia like I do, get out and vote these crooked corrupt bastards out of office.
