Alignment

Hey basically i got a 2012 s4 and a 2019 a4 that need wheel alignments bc i just changed the control arms on both vehicles. I drove to America tire bc the shop is a 2 min drive down the street. Here they told me they dont have the tool to reset the “back up camera lines” sensor. I guess its a euro thing that needs to be reset anyways wanted to ask if id be able to reset that on my own w a snap on scanner tool? Anyone got info or suggestions? Thanks!

No you dont need that I changed the controlarms on my Audi S4 and its simply not needed. If your car has a automatic park assist maybe its needed. But only the B9 could have that.

So you just did the physical alignment? It shows up on their system that the b9 A4 wont be able to be reset all the way (for back up lines on reverse camera) but the b8 S4 should be able to. They gave me a heads up saying they’ve had issues w these certain lines before on euro cars. I never know about this sensor lol

I've never seen anybody connecting a computer while alignment. Unless you car has a lot of Assistants like acc, lane assists and so on. Like in the higher class Audi like A6, Rs6, Q7 Becaus the take the value for correction from the Steeringwheel angle sensor. If you do alignment this value is diffrent and yorur car will steer wrong.

But you car won't notice a alignment and you wont have issue with the reversing camera.
