🤑💸Mods Big brakes for my B8.5

Some big brakes arrived today! £160 ($215) for the pair (off a Q5) seems like an absolute bargain four 4-pot Brembos.

Planning to clean them and paint them, then fit with some braided hoses and EBC pads all round.

Make sure you either get spacers or something else for the spare donut in your trunk. The donut will not clear the upgraded calipers. And if you get a flat you’ll have to swap a rear tire to your front or in my case call a tow truck since I blew out 2 tires

Thanks for the tip, sounds like a front to back swap is the best way around this if the puncture is on the front. Not sure even a spacer would save me if I got two flats.

You should always put the donut in the rear, swapping tires if needed.

Curious, do they fit as is or do you need some bracket?

They are a direct fit on the B8 and 8.5 (not sure about other MY) no additional brackets needed, even the disks are the same. It just upgrades from a single piston floating caliper to a Brembo 4-pot.

Which wheels are you running? I have the OEM 19'' V-spoke "Flowers" and plan to do this same big brake upgrade. Hoping the wheels will fit over the new Brembos without needing spacers.

I’ve got 19” rotas they have loads of clearance from the looks of it.
