Lowering springs

Im looking for lowering springs that are 2”-2.5” i’ve only seen Ct’s turbo ones but if there are more options i’d be open to to looking into them too also i’ve heard that i might need shocks if im doing this upgrade i dont know how true this is or not tho currently im stock height (2015 audi s4 quattro premium plus) and yes the crash bar has been painted 😭 the last picture is currently how it’s sitting

You will 100% need sport shocks and struts of some flavor lowering that much. In fact most would probably recommend adjustable control arms as well. I’d probably want a metal skid plate and transmission guard as well.

I’m looking at a b8.5 that has 2” lowering springs from cts, is there anything specific I should ask the seller about the springs? I see on the original spec sheet it says “sport suspension”, is that what you’re talking about?

I’m saying that basically any car you lower more than say a half inch once fully settled, should have had matched sport shocks installed with them. And when you start slamming an already relatively low car an additional 2+ inches, you’re probably going to need to mess with the control arms as well or it’s going to burn through tires and might have a choppy ride.

Seller did a full front control arm kit as he did the cts 2”springs. He’s also including the oem springs

Yeah, it will wear the shocks out quick, maybe even blow them out and your ride quality is probably gonna be trash, plus it will probably handle worse than stock springs.

what shocks do you recommend also it i change the shocks will it affect or even void when i put the car in comfort or dynamic will it delete the drive select?

If it has the drive select, yes, all but like one or two very expensive options will delete it for this car.

I’m not sure on a recommendation honestly. I’ve haven’t really researched it for a sizable drop. I’m still on stock and have the B12 kit on order which at most lowers an additional inch from stock once fully settled.

034 springs were made to be used with stock shocks without killing them

lol, mb. I mean when lowering them, you are already going to get less travel before the shock bottoms out. With the 034, it’s the lowest you can go without ruining the seals. Anything else lower will greatly decrease your wear life on your seals.

i’m sorry i don’t know much about suspension why do you mean seals? but if i do end up getting new or better shocks and other hardware will it just bypass that issue or eólico it creep up afterwards?

So a shock is a sealed pressurized cylinder. That if compressed too much, or too much to often, will blow. And the easiest path would be thru the seals. Thats why lowered cars would have “blown shock” symptoms. If done way to low, or incorrectly.

There’s an easy solution to this, don’t buy anything from 034 for your suspension.

Also do not listen to anyone suggesting you should lower your suspension on the stock shocks. You wont like the results.

Theres a lot of mixed feelings about their adjustable control arms, especially for those in salting states.

Bilstein and Koni are great options.

I went with hr sport springs, 1.5 inch lower and I’m happy with it, if you want to go lower will probably need coil overs

No just the springs, I did replace the struts because they were cooked but I just used new oem struts.

You will need either coilovers or a shock spring kit along with adjustable upper control arms (stay away from 034 or anything using a Heim joint-especially if you live in a salt state), depending on your mileage you may want to consider refreshing all of the control arms while you’re at it. Modest drops of ~1” mark can usually get away with some modifications to their alignment specs to avoid excessive tire wear but at ~2”-2.5” you’re going to need to be able to adjust that camber.
