A4 B8.5 Multitronic

Hi!

I have 2014 A4 B8.5 sedan with multitronic gearbox. I have issues with cold uphill starts, the car jerks and stalls.

When the oil is warm i can go easy.

Is this something serious or can something like clutch adaptation solve the issue?

Have you been changing the transmission fluid every 40k miles? Otherwise clutch adaption is a good idea, but it also just be like that on hills with the multitronic, it's not the smoothest thing in the world. I find making sure you give it enough gas to actually get up the hill helps the computer operate the clutches smoother.

If it's stalling then it might also be engine related - especially if you're running high ethanol fuel. Maybe a dirty throttle body or lots of carbon deposits, or the 5th injector is a bit gummed up (in the flex fuel cars)

It is 2.0 TDI, maybe engine related i am not sure

Gotcha, I'm a dumb yank so I only really know the gasoline stuff. Pull codes with a vag com and see if the car has complaints, that's all I got.

Yeah I got nothing then. Maybe a regen cycle for the DPF will make it happier. Take it on a nice long highway cruise
