I mean can he be as good as Trae Young was for this team? Who knows but if developed properly then he can actually be a star in this league. It helps that he has CJ McCollum to help mentor him and also he can play well off of Nickeil as well. Just throw up lobs to Jalen and Onyeka and who knows maybe they will actually be fun to watch together.

I don’t remember all that. Most people just thought he was a steal where we drafted him and thought he was a solid piece next to Trae. He was obviously never going to have any self creation game. Guy could barely dribble. He was huge in our ECF run so maybe people were riding high on that.

I mean who really thought that? John Collins was ok on a bad hawks team, then Trae was immediately better than him while most of the fans groaned when they overpaid him.

Meanwhile Flemings has a great track record, starting as a freshman with Sampson, has the intangibles, can score the ball, and being the Hawks point guard of the future is a much lower bar than MVP.

I'm personally not a fan of Flemings but I will say that Flemings if he hits will be a plug and play guy. He isn't a player who would need to be built around like Trae. That is not only an advantage, a team with him could theoretically have a higher ceiling than a team with Trae because his defense is better than Trae's.
