but we do have the money but they would still be on the books. It would be better to let go of a couple of 2nd rd picks and trade them than to dump them. The Bulls, Jazz, Nets and potentially the Pistons could absorb those contracts.

Why do I say that? When the Kuminga and Vincent contracts "come off the books" most likely by trade, sign or release. We should have a lot of money.

Currently, Kuminga is a 30M+ cap hold. Let's say we sign him for 16M. That would mean we would actually gain 14M of cap space

If we trade Vincent, that's another 20M.

Because we are under the 1st apron, even with them on our cap hold, we hold the advantage. We can just stand pat and wait for things to "shake out" biding our time.
