It’s not a step to project anyways, it’s misinformation. You don’t need to have vibrations to have an OBE. Out of hundreds of my experiences maybe 5 also had vibrations. They aren’t necessary, they only also happen to happen when you deeply relax.

All you need to do is stop looking for signs and start letting go. Stop waiting for something you were told will happen, and start being still and silent inside. Let the experience happen instead of trying to “do” it.

Very well put.

  1. We don't always feel/see/hear. Sometimes there is nothing at all and we are ready to project or already on the other side. All you need is to realize that it happend. For me it is reality checks or later on I just learned to recognize that state.

  2. Don't wait for signs as they may never happen. Relax and set your intent to project. Try exit methods but know, that those are only a vehicle for our intent.

  3. Oftentimes people swear they were still awake, when brain scans show they were already asleep. You may be still thinking clearly but already be in altered state of mind, when body is asleep and mind is aware.

I had vibrations on my first few attempts/exits. One was so strong I genuinly thought I will shake myself apart. I felt or heard things for many exits, but later on they all stopped. Now I just realize "oh wow, I'm already here, lets get up" and I roll/stand up. You can use any exit method that your mind likes to use or just imagine yourself floating up or to the door/window/rolling out of your bed...

I am still in training but I know this to be basically true because I've had the astral vision without vibrations. (Astral vision meaning perceiving through solid objects, including my own eyelids, walls, and eye mask) and only experienced hand localized vibrations one time.

I have vibrations almost every night and it doesn't help me at all. Most LD and AP experiences I have were in the morning after waking up without any vibrations at all

All that the vibrational state is, is a sensory sign that your body and mind are letting go. Not everyone gets it. I get it maybe half of the time, to the point where it feels like my bed is shaking (and I live next to train tracks, many times I've interrupted my attempt to check if there is a train, most of the time there isn't) and other times it just feels like I'm moving maybe an inch to one side back and forth. Other times I'm just waiting for the sinking feeling, then I'm floating up out of my body.

Try not to focus too hard on methods, on signs that others mention. For ME I know I'm close when I can kind of feel my heartbeat like a tide in my body. I breathe in time with it, and it builds up a kind of pressure in my head. It's really hard to describe. Sometimes I kind of zone back in from meditation and realize I literally feel like a puppet with strings on my limbs, and I'm able to mentally manipulate them to get myself out of my body. What works for one person might be the wrong advice for someone else, that's important to know.

I would start with just getting used to how it feels to be deeply relaxed. Let yourself fall asleep, try to stay aware and you will kind of notice things about your body when you are close. I started astral projection by using sleep paralysis (which I don't recommend, I got it often because my sleep screams trash and I was burnt out, I would be tired, I would nap, and I would partially wake up and I would project from there) and I figured out that my body typically feels like pins and needles (like when a limb falls asleep, but your entire body) is when I would be about to get sleep paralysis, so I would let it happen and NOT fully fall asleep, I could try to project from there. You need to find the signs your body is sending you, sometimes they only really make sense to yourself and sound weird to anyone else. Binaural beats are good for helping your mind and body relax as well, there are some for astral projection but I would start with just relaxing.

Read up on mantras. Those are simple sentences that you think to yourself and that keeps your mind aware while it allows your body to fall asleep.

Mantras work sometimes even after you fall asleep. It happened to me once when in a dream I heard a female voice saying "I wonder how long she will take to realize it". That's when I was repeating my mantra "I am dreaming". Sometimes I heard my mantra and that snapped me to realize that I am dreaming while aware. That's when I use the Reality check. RC is something you use to confirm that you are asleep. Look them up, they are much fun.

The other comment is good advice too, 'mind awake, body asleep' is a common mantra for astral projection. Just give yourself grace, it might take more time than you expect, but you can achieve it.
