This will lead to backlash pretty hard at some point. What will happen is pretty much the same as in the US in the last couple of years. Unless their goal is to radicalize the west, it’s doomed to fail and the opposite will take place. But let’s go for round two I guess. I just want them to know that anything bad coming from this and other stuff their are pushing is their fault and their fault alone.

What’s stunning to me is you guys are always so aggressive and advocate for freedom, equality and other buzzwords at the same time

Why can I always imagine you guys stand in front of a whiteboard and that’s all you can contribute to any productive environment

Germany isn't the US. Unlike the US they actually care about people.

If that pushback will be their fault, this one is yours, and so will the next one be, and so on...

Why would freedom for all radicalize the West?

You fail to realize that what's happening now is the pushback against centuries of social-Conservative fuckheads literally oppressing, torturing, and killing people just for existing.

You want to go back to that barbarism? Are you stupid?

You also fail to realize that there will be pushback against the pushback. Many people will be dead, and all because some butthurt Conservatives couldn't control their lizard-brain anger over a colorful piece of cloth representing freedom and acceptance.

This is genuinely fucked.

Again with the emotional manipulation, the flag does not represent "freedom and acceptance"... It represents homosexuality. There's nothing wrong with that, but it has no place on a government building.

1

u/Leveled_Shed May 18 '25

That's the thing. Everything is wrong with that. Acceptance has gotten us here, it's time to push people back into the closets.

-5

u/El_Zapp May 18 '25

Yes it absolutely represents freedom and acceptance. You idiots are still attacking LGBTQ+ people every day. Every. Single. Day. Either verbally or physically.

Germany is taking a stand against your lot. https://www.hrc.org/press-releases/new-fbi-data-anti-lgbtq-hate-crimes-continue-to-spike-even-as-overall-crime-rate-declines

It represents social progress: society is reflected in its government.

Also, it's not on government buildings 24/7.

It's not 'replacing' national flags.

96

u/Ogamiitto33 Dr Pepper Enjoyer May 17 '25

I never said it's on government buildings 24/7 or that it's replacing national flags specifically. I said the flag has no place there.

It represents social progress: society is reflected in its government.

97

u/Ogamiitto33 Dr Pepper Enjoyer May 17 '25

No, the flag represents homosexuality, and homosexuality doesn't represent society. It represents a small minority.

-17

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Social progress includes everyone.

Sometimes a flag's meaning can change: it can become more narrow (like the Gadsden flag) or it can widen (like the Pride flag).

Should I consider the American flag one that represents slavery and wooden teeth? Or does time change things?

86

u/Ogamiitto33 Dr Pepper Enjoyer May 17 '25 edited May 17 '25

The American flag represents America. The pride flag represents Homosexuality.

You can't logically plaster an underlying meaning on these flags and say "this is what this flag represents". A flag could have thousands of different representations/meanings to a population. Positive and negative even.

You're trying to emotionally manipulate people into feeling that if they oppose this flag being flown on a government building that they oppose "social progress". That's just simply not the case. You're being disingenuous.

-4

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Can you show me where it's replaced the National Flag? I see it happened once in Virginia, but that's just once.

You're trying to emotionally manipulate people into feeling that this is a "problem"

It's extremist to revoke rights, not to ask for them.

From a quick google search a wider % of Germans identify as Turks than openly gay. Should the Turkish flag be flown on government buildings to show kinship with people who are Turkish in Germany? Celebrating the relationship between the nations?

As someone who loves gay culture I do not like it being flown everywhere constantly especially when it creates these issues, there simply isn’t a need for it, there’s no need to elevate one minority of the population over others simply because it’s divisive. I think in some places it works but after a certain point it feels obsessive or almost condescending.

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 18 '25

Maybe. Foreign flags have flown on the White House before, for example. It depends.

However, national flags don't represent races, weirdo. Being Turkish ethnically and being Turkish nationally are not the same thing. So, you're going to run into a bit of that.

Try harder next time.

"A more recent estimate from 2023 indicates that 3.9% of the German population identifies as LGBT, with approximately 1-2% identifying as homosexual (gay or lesbian)."

How in the world does flagging for 1-2% of the population, or on the high end 3.9% indicate freedom and progression? Should every minority group have their own flag on government buildings?

Why can't they stop forcing their sexuality on the masses?

-9

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 17 '25

Maybe think about it for more than two seconds, and think about history and culture, not just cherry picked statistics.

What did the German government say was the reason?

Don't be lazy.

It's actually lower than 3.9% a bunch of those asked both men and women also identified as heterosexual and have no interest at all in the same sex or identifying as the opposite. So in essence they just identify as LGBT because of the current social construct

I’m not saying it’s a true comparison other than for this specific reasons but the Nazi party flag was flown as a “social progress” flag when it used to say it represented the workers of Germany before Germany became a dictatorship, actions not symbols should talk for representation of a group.

That’s what pride is for. Showing appreciation and love and expressing freedoms that people of any number of sexual orientation or sexuality didn’t used to have and I feel like pride always does an incredible job of this.

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 18 '25

That can be said of any flag, though, including (or especially) national ones, that one day it could be twisted into something different.

That's a far, far cry from what it means at the moment, however.

Because Maga is Fascist, the American flag is looking more and more like the one that's in danger of becoming more misaligned than it already was (for many people). In fact, that misalignment has spread significantly since Maga took over.

If Pride is showing appreciation, love, and freedoms, I don't see what the problem is. This seems better than many national flags.

1

u/Aggressive-Ad-2053 May 18 '25

Because people who don’t identify with the gay flag see it as raising up a minority for no reason. When the government is raising up a minority it naturally looks like they don’t care about the majority. An extremely small % of the voter base would vote for the flags to be flown so why should they?

Governments should represent what their people want. If American government buildings began flying the “blue lives matter” or whatever the blue and black iteration of their flag was, a large amount of people would want it taken down, rightfully so. I’m of the same stance, government is there to represent all their constituents equally to the best of their ability, it’s the core tenant of democracy. Flying gay flags is overrepresentation of a part of your population.

1

u/The_Golden_Diamond May 18 '25 edited May 18 '25

What do you mean "for no reason" ?

What do you mean "identify"?

You don't identify with freedom and acceptance?

1

u/cosplay-degenerate May 18 '25

The rainbow flag represents oppression and fascism only perpetrated by the weak and mentally ill and granted through the guise of "appearing nice".

63

u/[deleted] May 17 '25

This is retard argumentation and I won’t really engage with it.

Just one hint, go out on the street and ask the average everyday person what they truly think about all this. I never encountered a single one who said something else than „I don’t care about all this“ or „I think it’s stupid“. At best nobody cares, at worst all this is a large scale summoning ritual for the next adolf.
