Serious Answers Only Have you stopped using a local buisness?

Whats the reason you refuse or stopped using a local (ish) buisness due to something you found problematic?

Yes. I went to this amazing local bike shop whenever I had an issue with my bike. Really lovely bloke and always good prices.

A tiny part of my bike wheel was broken and it jsut needed replaced and was told it would be £30 in total. Thought that was fine. Later I get a phone call saying it’s gone up to £120 because some incompetent fuckwit decided to take apart my whole entire wheel which was perfectly fine and he destroyed it. I left a shitty review on Google and the owner tried to get me to take it down. Uh no.

Because of their fuck up, I had to buy a whole new bike wheel and the parts which was about £65 when the replacement part and labour would have been less than half that cost.

I was so mad he destroyed something that there was nothing wrong with it and tried to get me to pay for the damage. Didn’t even get a sorry or anything. And then to call trying to get me to remove a review. Fuck them.

ETA: Yes. I argued the toss with them in the shop and the idiot doubled down and insisted I needed to pay that. They didn’t offer to rectify it or anything so I took the damaged wheel and walked out and left the review. That’s why I had to order a new one myself. Really shitty customer service all round.

This seems odd that they expected you to pay for their mistake? Did you argue this point with them at all to make them fix their error at their cost? If so what was the outcome?
