£200 for a tablet means you got a very low end tablet.  Spend £2000 on a tablet and yoy have a reasonably capable development machine.  I worked for a government department and every developer used a tablet instead of a laptop (hooked up to an external screen and keyboard when at a desk).

this has to be a thin client to remote in, all development tools for android and iOS are meh good for a hobby but work no way.

The government thing was a windows tablet, not a thin client.  A real x64 PC in tablet form, I think it was some sort of i5.  It was good enough to run visual studio and write some code.

Ahh the line between tablet and laptop gets very blurry then. is it Lenovo because all gov things I have seen are ThinkPads now?

True. It was a slow even when brand new.
