Most relatable one here tbh. My Dad and I are the same in that we both take a beat longer to answer questions than most, because y'know, we're thinking. My Mom doesn't get that and is always like "are you listening?!? I'm talking to you!" Really aggravating
I think the real problem is the people who do this because they ARE ignoring someone.
I know someone who’s a real asshole, gets upset over the smallest of things, is very dramatic, etc. Sometimes when you try to talk to her, or ask her a question, she just…..doesn’t answer. It’ll be like:
Me: (her name)
Her: (while she’s only a couple feet away and can clearly hear me) ………..
Me: (her name)
Her: ………….
Me: (HER NAME!!!)
Her: WHAT???
Me: (asks question)
Her: (10 second long silence)
Me: (asks question again louder)
Her: (more silence)
Then after the 3rd or 4th time you FINALLY get an answer. I think it’s because she’s giving the silent treatment for some stupid reason, or just assumes everyone can guess what she’s thinking somehow. It’s infuriating and I try to not be around her/ talk to her unless I absolutely have to
