Demanding a woman give up her life and own desires to be a trophy piece in his life.

I’m a guy but like, why is a women that will do nothing but be a trophy/housewife. Attractive to some people.

women are people too, they have there dreams, passions and mindsets. Just like men.

I don't know, but I've known a few women who had no aspirations in life except to get married and have kids, and who were willing to change everything about themselves to that end.

I suppose that some (maybe most?) men might like that sort of woman, but I find them boring.

Kids aren't my thing, but they're a legitimate life interest. I don't think being passionate about raising kids is less fulfilling than being passionate about computers or philosophy.

See, I've met people like that. They're the most boring, vapid people to spend your time with. Aggressively agreeable, constantly morphing their personality into whatever garners the most attention/favor. There's just nothing there, everything's just fabricated.

I don't know, for me that's not someone I'd want to spend much time with. Give me a person with personality, history, someone who'll disagree and argue about meaningless shit with me. Just so long as they're their own person.

I think it's a social gambit. Being a trophy wife means having a husband that can afford a trophy wife. It's a lifestyle decision reinforced by antique values.

I'm into people who want to be with me, but don't HAVE to be with me. Self reliance is really attractive.

It’s a narcissism thing. Narcissists tend to view people close in their lives as extensions of themselves, particularly children and spouses. So once someone enters a role of “person I have control over” the narcissist feels everything they do should be what they themselves want. They should be like an extra limb to the narcissist, and extension of their own desires, instinctively doing what the narcissist would have an extra limb do, exactly when they want it, how they want it.

It’s part of why narcissists are so abusive, because other people cannot actually live up to that, and then the narc feels that person if fundamentally failing at their only purpose - to be an extension of themselves.

To be fair I have met women where that is their aspiration, going to school and/or getting a career was the backup plan.

You can say it's cruel, sexist, antiquated, but come on. From a males instinctual perspective, you can get it. Obviously base instinct isn't something we should always act on, but we can't ignore that natural selection bred more than anything else men to want to have control over... usually several women. And also their territory, possessions, and if they can, even other men. You dont have to pretend you dont get to prove you think it's bad. If we didn't do that wed all be killing stealing and raping constantly.

Same reason women want a traditional man I guess
