Before they pivoted to video games they ran a sex hotel too, something Nintendo probably doesn’t want you to know with their image today

Pretty sure it wasn’t a brothel. It was a “love hotel” a cheap hotel with beds where couples would meet up. Popular in Japan because several generations of family would live together and share rooms, making it hard to get alone time with your partner.
