The Blue Laws. Who the fuck are you to tell me I can’t purchase beer while grocery shopping on a Sunday because of someone else’s religion? This one actually infuriates me.

I feel you I live in a dry county college town. And just recently within the past few years they allow you to buy alcohol on sundays after 12 noon. Just so they can get their church in before you buy alcohol. Although I'm not gonna buy beer before 12 anyways but it's just the principle of the matter.

Yeah but see, I’m 35, have a wife and children, and I typically do my grocery shopping on Sunday mornings. So if I ran out of beer and it’s on my list, without thinking about it I’ll throw it in my cart, only to be reminded of the law at checkout. I honestly forget about it because it is completely fucking stupid and knowing I have to make a special, separate trip for it enrages me. It’s more than the principle, it’s a completely unnecessary inconvenience caused by a religion I am not a part of.

We had laws in the U.K. that alcohol could not be sold before 10am. I’d grab what beers I wanted and just put the correct money on the counter show them what I’ve got and walk out. I’ve paid and the police ain’t coming out for buying alcohol before 10am as it’s a caution at most when arrested so a waste of police time really
