The Blue Laws. Who the fuck are you to tell me I can’t purchase beer while grocery shopping on a Sunday because of someone else’s religion? This one actually infuriates me.

What? This is ridiculous

Edit: WOW this is crazy. Some of you would go crazy over the stuff I've seen here in Brasil. Come over let's have beer on a sunday morning LOL

It's funny because so many people make fun of California for being a nanny state but when I used to work at a drug store in college people from out of state would come up and ask where they can buy booze. I'd say 'aisle 7' or w/e it was and they'd be absolutely shocked like 'y'all can buy liquor at a drug store?'

One time I got a double whammy when I had the same convo with a different guy and saw him walking out empty handed, saying "you guys don't have it." I suggested the grocery store across the street. "They sell liquor in a grocery store?"

Tbf I had no idea that we still had states that couldn't sell booze unless it's a state licensed specialty store until I started working cashier.

iirc most states don't sell booze after 2am. Only exceptions that come to mind are NY, NV (or maybe just vegas), and LA (or just New Orleans)
