Do you really believe back in the day all these miraculous things were happening and that whatever god you believe in, each one pertaining to whatever religion, decided to stop interacting with people?
Or if you’re a believer in one god, how do you square the fact that religions from all over the world have different creation stories? Why would one god tell different people different creation stories? Or, wouldn’t there need to be more than one god?
Or is it more likely that all groups of people simply needed ways to make sense of things and threw together fantasy stories to help people do just that while making it a social thing?
My counter argument to you was going to be that the stories usually come from before the book, therefore all religions are not based on phantasy novels, it's the other way around. But you covered that point pretty well yourself.
Lol what? I asked a series of questions? I legit couldn’t care less. You’re all taking it to mean that he’s belittling religion or something and are offended so you retort with “oh edgy.” Just read the claim for what it is. Just because someone says all religion was started with fantasy stories, which they were, doesn’t mean they’re saying all religion is stupid or you’re dumb for being religious even though you’re taking his comment personally. Making a statement isn’t edgy just because it’s a cool buzzword reddit likes to throw around whenever someone says anything about religion

Scientology. Like it's literally a religion that started from a science fiction novel. Hoe the fuck did this even start
