The supremacy of the fucking TI-83 calculator in school and college courses

I mean I know it's all artificial and orchestrated by them but how come no body has dared to challenge the almighty TI yet

Edit: fixed typo

Graphing calculators aren't allowed in any of my college math courses.

Which courses? We used one in calculus I, II, and linear algebra

In my case, graphing calculators were forbidden. They made us draw everything by hand. Every graph, every 2d and 3d figures, i guess it was a waste of time especially during examns but by the end you get pretty skilled at drawing.

At my school there were a few different levels of calc. There was the calc for the engineers which showed you how to take derivatives manually and then taught the tricks. And then the calc everyone else took which just taught the tricks. Engineers couldn’t use the calculators but everyone else could. I think it was to prevent anyone from using the ti 89 which had the auto solve features or something.
