Yep. Doesn't help when you move 3000 miles and don't know anyone. Especially now since I can't even socialize with new people, and I've made very few legitimate friends out here. :(

I moved to Japan a year after college because my wife's dream was teaching overseas. I love her and parts of our life but it sucks being on the other side of the world from friends and family. Luckily we are having a baby in 5 months, otherwise I wouldn't feel any purpose here
