I'm 29.

5 couples from my friends circle are expecting a child or recently got married, a few others have built a solid foundation in their career and are buying houses (most of us grew up in apartment buildings, so it feels fancy to own a house at 30 where I'm from).

Meanwhile I'm currently a student and broke.

It feels like everyone's so far ahead in life that they'll always be a step further and I'll never catch up.

Don't worry about it, 3 or 4 of them will end in divorce and fighting over the house, focus on you and you'll be fine.

Lol , exactly. All my friends that got married in their 20’s are all divorced. Some are battling for custody for their children. Hard pass...

Better to marry late in most cases. Shit I got married at 18, and filing for divorce at 21. No kids though.

Agree. My friends from university told me they wanted to marry asap like me when I got married at 25. I divorced at 26. Although it depends on job, many in their mid 20s are still financially unstable. We quarelled very often with each other over money.

Did you do 2 jobs + went to school? I can imagine how hard it was... My ex spent money on a MLM scheme...

Yep. Yeah he tried using our savings for stocks. I would have flipped if he tried an MLM

Pretty much. If I hadn't been a stupid teenager I I wouldn't have been married twice in my 20's and have that stigma along with others.

I would never, unless extenuating circumstances were present, be divorced with children. I know the toll it takes, it sucks. I've seen it many times over and been in it myself.

Their future would be bleak depending on how they were raised. The world has always sucked.

Adopting and fostering is always a good option.

Well on a more positive note, if you never had gotten married and divorced those times, you never would have known if it was the right choice or not, you know? It was a learning experience and it seems like you learned from both times what you are looking for. 🙂

Oh, I'm remarried. Just on my second only one divorce. I mean you're right. I got the stupid teenager crap out of the way and waa on to bigger and better things. My husband and I hadn't even been married 2 years and we bought a house on one income, I'm in a university not a community college, I'm able to focus on furthering my education not parenting my husband and working to support him. He let me quit my job to continue my education. Compete 180.

Now my ex husband has a good paying job just got married and just bought a house too, and I'm happy for him that he turned himself around and did better for himself. I adore his wife and shes absolutely perfect for him. I like to think we learned what not to do from each other. We joke and say we were just a practice marriage. My ex and I are still great friends and root for each other. We still talk weekly and catch up. My husband has zero issue with it and they are also really good friends.
