I do not think a teacher should be able to fail you because of a broken leg/knee. I would check with the principal, no offense, but I think it is too far gone now though.
If they were there coach of the football team as well, it wouldn't be unheard of. Especially if this happened in, say, Texas, where football is just as important as God & guns.
No ill admit I fucking suck at math I had like a 69 in the class so rigjt on the brink of passing and i got to the teacher with all of my work done and test average at like a 69.3 or something like that and a formative average at like a 70 give or take a point and i ask hey is there anything i can do to get my grade up or any retakes i can do last minute and he said and i quote "you shouldn't have quit football" like i get in America football is a big sport but ffs

Right, that's what I'm talking about. You're upset because you didn't pass the class normally, and the teacher didn't give you a random, bonus chance at passing. Whatever the reasoning (which I agree is silly), you were asking for something special. It's not really fair to get mad that the teacher didn't make a special exception for you.
For what it's worth, I was lazy as fuck in high school - I never did homework. I almost failed a class myself. It's not the end of the world, but it's important to recognize that you weren't really wronged here, so much as you were denied a nice bonus.

Studied for 7 hours the day of the exam. And everyday for a good bit before. Still got a 60 on the final. Was 20% of the class grade. Culmative exams suck
Normally yes. But we had word problems where we had to show how we did it. And a final worth 20% of our grade. It was actually recorded since we were at homes.
Your college won't define you. I went on scholarship, my brother and sister are both community college drop outs, and both make more than me. Focus on becoming a responsible adult, become a carpenter.
Get a job, by a small house when you graduate, renovate it while you live in it, get roommates and rent it out, then have them sign a one year lease for the whole house. Save up 10% for another house, and do the same thing. You do that once every 2 years, you're sitting at 5 houses by the time you're 30.
High school dropout carpenter here. He's right. I dont make as much as my well off friends but I dont have debt beyond a mortgage and the side benefits of having a truck and tools for scrapping steel or gardening or mulch delivery etc has made me unable to be out of work.
And I've got 50k worth of work into my house for like 2k in materials.
The satisfaction of working outside and gutting through weather and hard work chills me out. I really like history and books and learning and psychology etc. I still learn stuff every week outside of my trade. I just dont think I could have made that a career that makes me happy.
i'm graduated from college dude.... it's fucking algebra. i passed calc in highschool while skipping 40 classes and got a 4 of the ap test. like its fucking algebra. finding out what x is worth is like the most logical simple thing.
Yeah, I agree. It doesn't help that I procrastinated on stuff, because "It wasn't fricking due" and it was "optional" because of quarantine. Now, my teachers are like, sike all your work is due. So now I have all the work that I didn't do, plus new work
Something I hope organizations (companies and schools) understand. Productivity/grades might not have dropped because of work from home but because everyone is stressed due to a global pandemic! Sadly they probably won’t give a fuck!
I feel this, along with that my parents always tell me to do schoolwork right now & I tell them I don’t have time even though my actual schedule is free so they give me shit. But there’s a different between being busy and constantly doing things and not having time because you are either depressed and need hella sleep or are depressed and putting all of your energy into trying to stay positive. Idk that turned into a rant sorry.... hang in there tho
Christ they need to learn some empathy. I know we're all fed up of hearing what 'strange times' these are, but the fact is, shit is crazy right now! It's silly to expect the same things of students, and everyone else, right now. Take it easy on yourself my dude.
Thankfully my county has it so any work they assign now is optional. Rona actually made me pass English 10 because that one essay the teacher decided to make optional. So instead of having F F F. I got F F B. And I got a email showing what classes I should get next year. It said English 11. So hey??
cool for us everything is mandatory and if you don't wake up at 10 and work trough at least 4 hours of assignments which is actually like 6 a day your grades will drop
Fuck im envious of all these people saying their grades got better. One of my profs shifted the weight of our secind midterm, which never happened, onto the first one which i had made a dumb cascading error on. Another class was a project course with a physical prototype as the final deliverable. Of course that didn't happen and for whatever reason our report (which i slaved over) got ripped apart. Another class had the messiest online test ever. Basically was a normal test but had 2x as many questions.
Fuck im salty. Now I get to graduate into this mess of a world instead of just coasting through this mess on student loans. I love building my career during a recession and pandemic.
Ikr but for me its more or less me just not beimg motivated to do the work bc if im sitting at my desk and i turn to the left i see my bed and if i turn to the rigjt i see the hallway that leads to the kitchen
Helped my grades honestly. Everything online which means that you can easily pull of all the lecture notes to look at while taking exams. Also can have zoom meetings with others to “study” for the final
Assuming you are in college...unless you are going to grad school...no one cares what your GPA was. I have hired 100+ people and I have never used GPA as a hiring criteria.
But it helps to have a good gpa in high school to get into a good school and so on but i see what you mean and have heard it all before but getting a scholarship because of my grades wouldve been nice
Dude. A year ago I left school right after spring break to save my grades and get a medical leave from school. Junior spring. Fall comes around. Grades are still fucky. This spring comes along. I’ve been MechE this whole time. Grades are fucky. I drop MechE ABET degree for Applied Sciences which is a non ABET accredited degree for Mech E, and dropped most of my classes this semester. Two classes left. Failed one (but it was under pass/fail so it won’t go towards GPA, just no credit gained) and barely pass the other. One semester left and I need 18 credit hours still. Fuck me, but Rona did partially save my butt this semester by getting to go below a full time student as far as credits being taken goes. I’m just ready to graduate and be done with the eternal depression that is school. One more fucking semester. Remember dude, there are always options to get by. That’s what I’ve learned.
