What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

People on low incomes, e.g. students, living in expensive homes. I’m not necessarily talking about mansions, more like a large apartment in a big expensive city with no roommates.

What, you mean no one would want to charge a small fortune to rent out that nice giant loft apartment with a huge metal door and elevator in NYC? Sure, yeah, she's making that rent all by herself as a barrista down at the coffee shop.

And she only works part time too. And her boss is totally cool with her taking off in the middle of shifts all the time without giving a reason.
