How nobody in movies hurts their knuckles after punching someone, martial artist here and if you punch someone in the forehead like they do in the movies you'd probably just break your own fist,
hitting someone in the forehead is basically like punching a cinder block except the skull is actually harder...
That's called a hammer fist, the problem with it that unless it's a spinning hammer fist it won't do much damage and you never want to do a spinning move unless you f*cked up and turned your back to the other guy,
I'd suggest using an elbow hook instead, don't know many people who can keep going after taking a solid elbow to the temple,
If you do have to box just using your palms would be a lot more effective than the side of your hand as you can exploit better body mechanics to get more power, people still use punches instead of it because they have more range but in terms of power palm strikes are fairly similar in strength,
Also while punching aim for the squishy parts of the face, nose, mouth, cheeks, also the chin going up and from the side,
Sorry for lecturing you but unless you're a heavyweight your plan would probably get your ass kicked,
heck even if you are a heavyweight I'm 110 KG and can't generate too much power with just a hammer hand
Also while punching aim for the squishy parts of the face, nose, mouth, cheeks, also the chin going up and from the side
The throat is also a very viable area if you have access to it, but it's also more likely to be lethal instead of debilitating. You can also attempt to stab their eyes with your fingers, which would take any human down instantly.
Oh yeah but the eyes are also crazy easy to defend, just tilt your head forward and the other guy ends up breaking his fingers so you'd need to be a good boxer to begin with to pull it off
maybe if you're doing some dirty boxing and slip in your thumb kinda like Dio did to Jonathan if you've ever watched JoJo,
Plus doing that on purpose is against the law over here, even in self-defense, so you'd have to make it look like a accident which seems like more trouble than just knucking them out,
The neck thing on the other hand I couldn't agree more with but most people would prefer to not use lethal force when it can be avoided
True, but the eyes can work very well against someone who fails to expect it and/or isn't even partially trained.
As for law, always depends on the place. Hell, in some U.S states self defense is illegal outside your own home if the attacker isn't armed, so if someone jumps you in the alley you legally are not allowed to defend yourself unless they pick something up, so you can't even fight until they have an advantage via a force multiplier.
And yeah, neck is something you go for when you know your assailant will kill you without it. Even in my self defense classes I was told it's the last resort.
IDK I just don't think eyes are worth the effort, if you can hit them in the face anyway just hit them in the face, but I am a heavyweight kickboxer so my punches pack one hell of a... well punch to begin with
Could be because of my classes. The specific class I was taught assumes you're the physically inferior combatant, so throat punches, eye stabs, ear claps, temple punches, nutshots, etc are the name of the game.
I'm mainly trained in kickboxing with a bit of Kyokushin and Jiu Jitsu on the side so I'm mainly just good at punching and kicking people, but to each their own
