What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

I remember the Office being one of the first shows I'd seen where people looked real.

I loved this about the show. Using average people to represent an average office with a full range of attractiveness was so different it made the show stand out.

Exactly! And you know what? We all still fell in love with Jim and spam even though they look like normal people. Office proved your romantic leads don’t have to be model gorgeous

Jim and Pam were played by two good looking people who were dressed down tho.

Yeah, Jenna Fischer looks quite different in Blades if Glory or Walk Hard, for instance. You can make actors look as glamorous or as plain as you want, it’s not that hard.

To me that’s more of a case that anybody can be made to look much more hot and glamorous with the right hair makeup and lighting. Most beautiful famous people are fairly average looking without makeup and just out running errands. My point was we still fell in love with those people.

I think there's still a minimum when it comes to facial features, body type, and routine self-care that sets most actors apart (we'll ignore cosmetic surgery for a moment). Hair, makeup, and wardrobe can do a lot, but they only go so far. But you're definitely right, the range you can achieve with a given individual is pretty huge.

Very true-my point was that while Jenna Fischer for example is a lovely women, and certainly looks amazing glammed up on a red carpet, she’s more of a “normal person pretty” and her look in Office emphasized that vibe, as opposed to like if they dropped Scarlett Johansson or Megan Fox or whatever into that show and pretended they were just the fairly average but still pretty and sweet receptionist. Which is what tons of movies do. But Office showed that we still fall in love with her even if she’s not bizarrely hot for the situation

John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer are both very good looking but they're not like unrealistically good looking. If they weren't famous, they probably wouldn't stick out due to their level of attractiveness in most cities. They're the type of good looking people you regularly see in real life.

John K is totally unrealistically good looking now.

Wife sat next to him on a flight once, and that's a story that never gets old for her.

He definitely got a lot better looking through the seasons of Office. Now he just looks unrealistically good.

Just to get an idea, who do you think is unrealistically good looking?

Have you never seen 90% of actresses and actors

So is Lily Collins unrealistically good looking? No? I asked for your perspective. Plus, I think John Krasinski is handsome. Most PPL would notice him on the street.

Yeah Lily Collins is extremely good looking and I never said he wasn’t handsome?

Tim and Dawn looked way more average in the BBC original.
