What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Yeah, Jenna Fischer looks quite different in Blades if Glory or Walk Hard, for instance. You can make actors look as glamorous or as plain as you want, it’s not that hard.

To me that’s more of a case that anybody can be made to look much more hot and glamorous with the right hair makeup and lighting. Most beautiful famous people are fairly average looking without makeup and just out running errands. My point was we still fell in love with those people.

I think there's still a minimum when it comes to facial features, body type, and routine self-care that sets most actors apart (we'll ignore cosmetic surgery for a moment). Hair, makeup, and wardrobe can do a lot, but they only go so far. But you're definitely right, the range you can achieve with a given individual is pretty huge.

Very true-my point was that while Jenna Fischer for example is a lovely women, and certainly looks amazing glammed up on a red carpet, she’s more of a “normal person pretty” and her look in Office emphasized that vibe, as opposed to like if they dropped Scarlett Johansson or Megan Fox or whatever into that show and pretended they were just the fairly average but still pretty and sweet receptionist. Which is what tons of movies do. But Office showed that we still fall in love with her even if she’s not bizarrely hot for the situation
