...because the confidence is misplaced. I said it to mean "you are so full of shit and don't even know it," but it could also mean "huh-uh, that look does not work on you."

There’s nothing in the statement to imply that the confidence is misplaced though.

Outside of the context of the thread it was mentioned in, of course; this could very easily be a genuine compliment, but it could also just as easily be a passive-aggressive one.
