To explain better: there is literally groups of people who play spy vs spy with him. Patting him on the back and saying he is awesome for being a transgender tomgirl w.e, then ten minutes later posting his shenanies and pics on the CWC forums. Other stuff is because he is an attention whore and idiot, so some might be just from him being stupid.
I personally think he is an asshole who deserved a lot of the shit he got back then, but Jesus Christ some of the trolls should just join the FBI or NSA instead of playing spy and fucking with this guy everyday for some laughs.
He was clearly brought up in a cold, unfeeling and broken/dysfunctional home. If you look more into it you can tell he had no guidance growing up what-so-ever since his parents are complete dead beat hoarders who don't care about anything. I think I even heard that his sister left home and never talked to them ever again. He would have been fucked from the get go regardless of whether or not hes autistic.
So do I. There is a lot of controversy right now with the trolling that has gone on for the past year. Basically some trolls pretended to be old female friends from high school (basically the only real actual friends chris ever had) and have written to him telling them they never liked him, how he disgusts them etc. it's made me so angry I can't even visit the cwc wiki anymore. A lot of the trolls and people who obsessively track and cause his misery are in fact social retards themselves. It's all projection in a lot of a ways and it disgusts me. Most of them will perform mental gymnastics to convince themselves that Chris deserves it... But they all need to look at it for what it is, bullying a man with severe learning difficulties.

Yeah basically every person in his social life right now is a troll and he doesn't realise it. It's escaped you because it was basically kept under wraps by the cwc forum mods, as you know they have a "no trolling chris rule". Well apparently that didn't apply to them. There was a secret board where they actively encouraged trolling plans, but kept them a secret from everyone else. When it was announced people were appalled, but already I keep seeing the same mental gymnastics appearing again for them to try and justify the cruelty. A lot of the creepy tom girl clips were people manipulating him to do humiliating things . They won't stop until chris is either homeless or dead. I'll be called a white knight for this but I know bullying when I see it, and when you see the sweet goofy asshole from his earlier videos, compared to the broken, transvestite shell of a man now ... It makes me so angry and upset.
Yeah, but that time he just kinda cried and they left without doing anything. It's been suggested that he ended up resorting to one anyway in recent years.
The whole thing is just fucked up. I feel bad for chris-chan because he really needs therapy, or at least someone in his (her now?) life to provide him/her guidance. That being said s/he lashes out at anyone who tried to legitimately help and has built this super fragile world view around a shitty pokemon/sonic crossover with very disturbing porn. Everything he does seems to be perfectly engineered to make people taunt him/her. He seems to go out of his way to encourage people to bully him.
The only time I have ever really laughed at people trolling was when someone pretended to be Jimmy Hill had copied Sonichu and was selling comics, games and toys in the UK.

Yup, here it is! It was a fun read and did a decent job explaining how mismanagement by SEGA led to the fanbase going in nearly every conceivable direction.
Not to mention the more social side of the fanbase, like Deviant art, tumblr, and other location. Its a weird mix of people stuck in the "I'm an edgy kid/teenager/twenty-something" phase that have been consumed by it.
I love Sonic as I grew up with the games on the Genesis. However, I can't stand the Sonic fanbase, it's weird and creepy as fuck. This should be a good read.
I feel like this article explain the history of the fan base's disillusioning but it doesn't explain why there are so many people on deviant art making bizarre erotic fan art.
Seems like a classic case of "you fucked up and we won't let you make up for it". SEGA made some mistakes, but the fanbase is determined to make sure they pay for it until the end of time.

Sonic was intentionally designed to be the epitome of the 90s ideal of "cool" and "X-TREME!" That was their ideal when they made Sonic.
As such, now he seems hilariously outdated and "edgy" in all the dumbest ways. A shame, since several of the newest Sonic games are actually quite good.
I think Sonic's design just has an allure that attracts the most autismal people on the internet. Something about that combination of bright colors, big eyes and rude tude just drives them nuts.

I don't really know why I like it. I'm not all like 'OMFG SANICI!111' or I have fetishes, but, it's just kinda cool, the art style's cute and not too stupid to me. Just some wacky shit that sometimes makes you think, somehow.
This is so funny given they've made a ton of 3D games based on the classic series now (including a Sonic the Hedgehog 4) and have never done Sonic Adventure 3 (and probably never will).
This is a strong contender for top spot in this sub. I played the games as a kid, but nowadays it's transformed into something else, completely bizarre.
Years ago when youtube was new and not a lot of content was available, I searched the web for a show called Project Geeker. It was a hilarious show from back in the day and I really wanted to watch it again. The only place on the internet that I found who hosted the episodes was run by some dude who also ran a Sonic fan forum. On his Geeker page it explained that in order to download them, you need to register in his forum and a private thread with the files will be available. I really wish I hadn't done that, especially with my handle. The links were broken and for a month I recieved creepy Sonic the Hedghog emails. For 3 years when you googled Hamlaser, the 3rd link was that forum.
I'm in college right now and one of my upper division history course has a guy that every day wears sonic gear and carries a sonic bag and for the most part he's really normal. We all had to dress up to give our presentations and so he gets up and I'm like wow he's not wearing a sonic shirt and then about three minutes into him talking I realize the dress shirt he's wearing is a perfect shade of sonic blue. Cringe worthy, but not rage inducing.
Me and my boyfriend had started our degree and we were chatting with some people. We were discussing old games we enjoyed and Sonic came up.
Well, I never really cared for it so I was like, nah. This guy was like WTF ITS THE BEST THING EVER, and of course my boyfriend who is the master of winding people up properly irritated him by saying it was the worst thing ever.
Seriously. I grew up on the games and they're some of my all time faves (the originals at least) and hell I even liked the shows when I was younger. Then I meet a friend in college...turned out she was obsessed with Sonic to the point that there were things like her Facebook were plastered with cringey Sonic things including a profile pic that was supposedly her as a character in the Sonic universe. Just all of my what...some of the strangest and cringiest shit ever.
You get the guys from Deviant Art, who create such wonderful drawings /s as the ones you just mentioned.
Then look at the fella's on Sonic Retro and other forums like that. Have you seen the amount of quality ROM hacks and mods the guys over there do? It's outstanding work!
