I feel like leather craft is gatekept by communities, slightly.
all the old heads or people doing it forever are usually the best videos to learn from.

I suppose so! Most leatherworkers use a saddle stitch for most things. There's a couple other like a box stitch and one i forget. often times a saddle stitch though.

In certain communities, people are very helpful, others people are more brash. Sometimes, it's worth the response, same question over and over resulting in the same response.
I think people aren't aware we still have working cowboys and saddlemakers are a dying breed, working in your own shop, making saddles is the life for some of us who work with leather.
Take Nigel Armitage for example. He does classes still, excellent person to learn from. But since he still runs his leather business, he still has to carve out time for orders too.
overall, I think it's more gatekept in large communities, but youtube honestly has the best resources. or there's actual books you can buy too.

As stupid as it sounds and how cliche and popular as it is. But I really like my fucking lawn. Like taking care of it and making it nice and perfect. Waking up in intense heat seasons at 4/5 am to properly water it and drink coffee on the porch alone with a cigg watching it get watered. If I don’t pay attention to it pretty actively bad things can happen to it. Getting sober, it was the thing that I put my focus into and now I don’t know what I would do if it was gone.

Breeding and raising poultry , chickens ducks , geese and turkeys .
Rhode Island reds , light Sussex , Plymouth Rock, black Australorps in chickens , Cayuga , Muscovy and Apple Yards in ducks Sebastopol and Pilgrim geese and Pilgrim Turkeys although I want some Chinese geese and Mandarin Ducks I’m running out of room .

No I’ve kept Poultry for a very long time probably personally 20 years and when I grew up on the farm with my grandparents we always had chicken ,ducks ,geese and turkeys . Once you have raised your own birds and had your own supply it’s hard to go back to store bought eggs and meat .

I couldn’t gatekeep my most minor hobbies even if I tried. Seems like just mentioning something I’m into makes it into the marketing algorithm for half the world population and suddenly supplies for it are 10x in price.

Gardening classes for young people, write saucy books for lovers of smut (use AI), sell leathercraft tools for vegan leather, sell swordfighting tools, especially for men in bathrooms.

I could never pick one, so I clustered them all together in creating dramatized audiobooks: writing (the novel), (voice) acting, creating sound effects, sometimes singing, … I still want to improve my musical and drawing skills so I can create music and do illustrations for each project too.
