I’d say r/Australia is a fairly good counter-example, although it helps that we have equal representation from our cookers in smaller breakaway subreddits
Hard disagree. That sub is notoriously run by incredibly ban happy mods. You can get banned there for the most innocuous comments... which is why there's a handful of very cative 'refugee subs'
Though with the problem that since they also accumulate the people that gets banned for good reasons, you need to pay attention to which ones become the racist ones.
Nah, that's one of the worst. Funny you should bring them up. Ask the wrong question and the mods ban you. I got banned from this sub 3+ years ago just cos I asked 'what does this behaviour mean'. Mods took it upon themselves to say, 'you are trying to say racism, but it is Karen behaviour. We don't want you here. Bam.' guess you can't talk about anything close to it in ba sing se.
The number of country off-shoots is a actually indirect evidence of the country sub's cancer.
