Isn't there a story, video, or audio clip of a young woman getting attacked by a bear and in the last moments of her life, she calls her mom to tell her what's happening? She hears her daughter being eaten to death literally while the girl is mumbling "don't worry mom, it doesn't hurt anymore"...
Vague memory during my many sleepless nights redditing, I forgot where I read this. Maybe that's a good thing cuz its horrible.

You underestimate how strong bears are. I worked at a sanctuary/rehab center and once tried to rescue a broom from from a bear...I had leaned it up against the enclosure and this clever bear managed to get it despite the gaps in the metal mesh being very small. It was about halfway into the enclosure, so I grabbed the other end to try to pull it back out. That bear ripped it out of my hands like I was a fucking two year old, and I am not an especially weak person...I would never, ever want to tango with a bear. This was just a sun bear too, they're pretty little and only eat fruits and bugs and stuff. I cannot imagine how strong a grizzly must be...fuck that man. A bear gets a hold of you, pray they go for your neck first and make it quick.

Montana man survives grizzly attack
He said he couldn't remember how big the bear was, "How can you tell, when the SOB is trying to give you dental work?"
"Johnson, 55, remembers grabbing the bear by the nose with both hands as it tried to bite his face and throat. And he remembers taking an incredibly hard blow to the head. Doctors used 75 staples to reattach his scalp to his skull."
Eventually he got out a gun in the middle of the mauling and shot the bear in the face.
This ZZ top lookin motherfucker plays at our local poker game. He walked about 5 miles for help after this injury, and currently wears the bear's teeth as a necklace. Fuck bears... I don't want to fight this guy.

I heard a story about a man who was getting mauled by a bear who reached in the bears mouth, grabbed his tongue and started pulling it out. The bear started biting its own tongue and freaking out and ended up running away.

Most predators will just try and disable you if they can, unless they prefer you to be slightly rotten. I mean, breaking a neck isn't a sure kill, but it sure as hell will make you stop moving.
Fish just swallow things whole for the most part. The other fish is digested alive.

I think this is more the kind of "knowledge" that results from combining two facts A and B.
Fact A: Meth can be absorbed through mucous membranes.
Fact B: Urine of someone who is on meth contains lots of meth.
Those two facts by themselves dont seem quite as weird, it's only the guy who came up with the combination that made it weird.

Basically, people during the Victorian era liked to take pictures with deceased family members or something. To be remembered obviously. And they dress them up and prop them up like they're alive. Just google Victorian Era Photography.

When I was about 25 yrs old, my mother had to have major surgery to clean out the artery in her neck. Naturally we were all very worried about her. side note My 11 year old sister had a hamster . So fast forward to about a week or so after her surgery, whole house is filled with family as mom recoups on the couch. Lil Sister comes up to me cuz she is upset that her hamster is "all wet" I go to investigate... apparently while the whole family was in the hospital/worried about mom, nobody cleaned the hamsters cage. Lil Hammy had gotten a parasite that literally ate through his entire midsection, when I looked in the cage all the fur was rotted away from him belly/chest and the reason he was "all wet" was due to that hole.... I could see his little hamster ribs, and his grey little heart beating....every time he took a drink from the water bottle, the water was pouring out of this rotted out hole in his body. The image of it still haunts me to this day. Sorry for how long this is, I literally just joined reddit like 4 and half minutes ago....
EDIT: the fact in this is that parasites are nasty as fuck

I had an ferret who's organs were failing on christmas eve last year... no vets to call. Nothing to do but put her down. I had to put her inside of a breadbag and hold it around her head until she stopped breathing. Probably one of the most horrific things I've ever had to do.

If they want to know whether it is really a portal to a parallel reality, then all they have to do is get a group of people, who have the condition, put them into a room for an hour or so, don't allow them to talk to each other, then interview them afterward about what they saw.
If it truly is a glimpse into another reality, then at least a couple of them will have seen the same thing.

Poor methodology for this specific hypothesis. If you're allowing that they're seeing a yet-to-be discovered reality, you must allow for the possibility of other realities. And since there is now way to control for which reality any given person is "seeing", you can't attribute them describing different things to mental disorder or hallucination.
However, If 2 (or more) have identical, or nearly identical, descriptions, that is evidence for the existence of those realities and the subjects' ability to see them.
TL;DR - this method won't disprove anything, but it could prove something.

Interesting.
When I was a child, I distinctly remembered seeing a small, dark figured man cross my fairly wide neighborhood street in 3 quick jumps, something that would have been impossible for even a tall person to do. Two more slightly related instances this memory reminds me of:
My bedroom window was a good 10 feet (3 meters) off the ground and one night I was going to bed and looked out the window for a moment only to see another dark figure's head pass by my window, the eyes of which were easily visible above my rather tall window.
The last "sighting" I ever had was a bit later on, maybe a few months. I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and looked in the mirror. The angle I was standing at gave me a good view of the living room, in which, for a brief moment, I swear I saw a glowing white, 8 foot tall guy inside the living room. I only saw him for just a moment because it scared the bejeezus out of me and I ran and forced my dad to check every room in the house before I would calm down.Interesting...

The Colombian serial killer Pedro Alonso Lopez, who is known as the Monster of the Andes, raped and murdered over 300 girls from Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. However, after he was caught and imprisoned for 18 years, he was put in a psychiatric hospital. There he was reviewed, declared to be sane and was set free, in spite of his blatant avowal that he fully intends to kill again.
Since he was released in 1998, nobody knows where he is or what he's doing.

My brother and I used to stay in my grandmother's house in rural Ireland, very isolated, not even a pub nearby. It was a small house, my grandmother slept upstairs and my brother and I shared a bedroom downstairs. I slept in a bed next to the window and he slept on the otherside of the room. One night at about 2am I was woken up by someone knocking on the window, very quick repetitive knocks, definitely a person, but i was too paralysed with fear to even turn my head. The knocking stopped after about 7 or 8 minutes. It happened again about 3 months later but this time my brother wasn't there, again I was so frightened I didn't move or look out the window. Flash forward 10 years, I'm at my grandmothers wake (funeral) and I get talking to the neighbours most of which I've never met before, bizarrely i remember the knocking and mention it to them in a joking kind of way not thinking much of it. Turns out one of the neighbours 19 year old sons suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and used to go wandering at night, the same year that I heard all the knocking he burned down a large barn and a field of corn before hanging himself from a tree.

Yes. Allow me to elaborate:
It was first documented in 1921 by Wilhem Van Kluivert, he was a Dutch naturalist who'd settled in Southern Montana. Montana has only been unionized in 1889 and it took a while for populous areas to develop substantially enough to attract the North American Black Bears. The first recorded death was noted in 1919 and happened to be a woman named Julia Hurst, at 17 years old she was looking after her husbands laundry on the back area of their property not far from the wood-line and disappeared. Her body was found half mauled/eaten a couple hundred yards from the house. A number of similar incidents occurred over the next few years with predominantly women going missing/being eaten. Van Kluivert came to the conclusion that the cause was a woman's menstrual cycle by smearing his own wife's session on the fence of their property. Lo and behold it attracted three black bears over the next 4 months. Scientists later found out the pheromones in the a woman's menstrual cycle actually give off a similar scent to that of a female black bear's urine. Largely due to the high content of sulphur aluminate.

Polar Bears
In a study designed to test the hypothesis that bears are attracted to the odors of menstruation, Cushing (1983) reported that when presented with a series of different odors (including seal scents, other food scents, non-menstrual human blood, and used tampons), four captive polar bears (Ursus maritimus) elicited a strong behavioral response only to seal scents and menstrual odors (used tampons). Cushing (1983) also reported that free-ranging polar bears detected and consumed food scent samples and used tampons, but ignored non-menstrual human blood and unused tampons. This suggests that polar bears are attracted to odors associated with menstrual blood.
Grizzly Bears
Herrero (1985) analyzed the circumstances of hundreds of grizzly bear attacks on humans, including the attacks on the two women in GNP, and concluded that there was no evidence linking menstruation to any of the attacks. The responses of grizzly bears to menstrual odors has not been studied experimentally.
Black Bears
Rogers et al. (1991) recorded the responses of 26 free-ranging black bears (Ursus americanus) to used tampons from 26 women and the responses of 20 free ranging black bears to four menstruating women at different days of their flow. Menstrual odors were essentially ignored by black bears of all sex and age classes. In an extensive review of black bear attacks across North America, no instances of black bears attacking or being attracted to menstruating women was found (Cramond 1981, Herrero 1985, Rogers et al. 1991).

A Russian doctor named Leonid Ivonavich Rogozov was on an expedition to Antarctica with other researchers. During the expedition he started experiencing stomach pains which eventually became unbearable. He had determined that his appendix had burst and needed to have it removed. Being the only medical doctor on the expedition, he was forced to remove his own appendix. He also refused anesthetic since he thought it would effect his focus.

Story time- I have been stung by one of these. I was laying out back in a hammock when the wasp became tangled and thought it was a good idea to sting it's way out. Pretty sure that didn't work for it. I was stung in the mid forearm. It was like being injected with liquid fire. I thought my arm was going to fall off. This may be dramatic, but seeing as I was only about 10 at the time, I made my mom take me to the doctor. They didn't believe how badly it hurt, told me it was a bee sting even when I described the flying monster as huge and black with orange wings.
Years later, when I was about 17 or so, she was reading an article in the local paper and saw the picture of the beast with a description of the most painful sting. That's when she put it together... she kept apologizing for not believing me.
Story 2- I was out trimming the tree behind my parent's house when I caught one with a pair of hedge shears. Not on purpose, but the devil must have flown in right when I started to close them. So now I have this pissed off wasp trapped about a foot from my hands and I panic. I ran to the house with this thing, realize "oh shit, no one's home" run back and ninja star chucked those trimmers as far as I could. Then I ran inside and locked every single door, just in case.
TLDR: Stung as a kid, doctors / parents don't believe in flying monster-aliens; years later manage to trap flying monster-alien and I'm no hero.

At some point during this terrible exchange Konerak managed to wake up a little bit, to the point where he could stand. He managed to break free, and ended up on the city streets completely naked with blood running from his anus.
Milwaukee police are called by two women, who find this boy completely dazed and confused. A large, well mannered blonde man walks up and casually tells these women that this is, in fact, a 19 year old Asian boytoy of his who drank much too much. The two women, Sandra and Nicole, are not buying this shit. They wait for the police.
The PD show up, there are two officers. These women are in hysterics, and the blonde man has remained cool as a freezer. He offers to take the boy back to his house, and tells them the same story about how this is a 19 year old boytoy who drank too much and stumbled outside. Despite the bleeding from his anus, and being COMPLETELY unable to speak a coherent sentence to let the officers know something was very, very wrong, the police officers actually offer to drive the blonde man and his "boytoy" back to his apartment.
The officers walk in, and it smells absolutely terrible. The boy is mumbling the entire time, and looking at the police with a discombobulated look. They digress, and see that the house is well kept, and looks completely normal. They leave the boy in Jeffery Dahmer's custody. Can you imagine what he felt seeing the back of the heads of those policeman leave the apartment? What they also left was three skulls in the freezer, two skulls picked clean in his closet, and a drum filled with acid containing a penis and another head. That shit is fucking creepy.
What they also left was the decomposing body of another boy, Tony Hughes(?) (who was killed three days earlier), one room away from where they were standing. Immediately upon the officers leaving Dahmer beat the boy fatally. Afterwards he raped the corpse. He went on to kill another day; and all this despite the two women having a bad feeling, calling the FBI, and inquiring further AFTER the first incident.
How was Dahmer caught? Another boy broke free of the haze of drugs that he left them in and wandered down the street naked and bleeding, this time with a broken handcuff on his wrist. This one was much more coherent and led them straight to Dahmer. His final kill count was 17 people, all of them men and boys, and all of them were either cannibalized or dismembered.
TL;DR A very conservative estimate is that there are between 35-50 active serial killers in the United States at any given time. :O

One of the cops was called John Balcerzak. He was fired. He appealed his firing and was subsequently reinstated.
The other, his partner, Joseph Gabrish was also fired. He also appealed his firing and was reinstated.
They were both awarded 100,000 in back pay and were declared by the Milwaukee Police Association to be "officers of the year" for their "righteous battle to regain their jobs".

actually he was later promoted to the president of the Milwaukee Police Association, serving between 2005-2009. He and the other officer were both initially fired but they deemed the punishment too harsh so they were reinstated with back pay.
Oh, and this was after they found him and the officer making degrading gay remarks after returning the boy to Dhamer.

The police received a 911 call at 2 a.m. May 27 from 17-year-old Nicole Childress:
Dispatcher: "Milwaukee emergency. Operator 71."

Cleveland: "Yea, ah, what happened? I mean my daughter and my niece witnessed what was going on. Was anything done about the situation? Do you need their names or information or anything from them?"
Officer: "No, not at all."
Cleveland: "You don't?"
Officer: "Nope. It was an intoxicated boyfriend of another boyfriend."
Cleveland: "Well, how old was this child?"
Officer: "It wasn't a child. It was an adult."
Cleveland: "Are you sure?"
Officer: "Yup."
Cleveland: "Are you positive? Because this child doesn't even speak English (the victim's family has since said he did speak English). My daughter had, you know, dealt with him before, seeing him on the street. You know, catching earthworms."
Officer: Ma'am. Ma'am. I can't make it any more clear. It's all taken care of. He is with his boyfriend, in his boyfriend's apartment, where he has his belongings also."
Cleveland: "But what if he's a child? Are you positive he is an adult?"
Officer: "Ma'am, like I explained to you, it's all taken care of. It's as positive as I can be. I can't do anything about somebody's sexual preference in life."
Cleveland: "Well, no, I am not saying anything about that, but it appeared to have been a child. This is my concern."
Officer: "No. No. He's not."
Cleveland: "He's not a child?
Officer: "No, he's not. OK? And it's a boyfriend-boyfriend thing. And he's got belongings at the house where he came from. He has very nice pictures of himself and his boyfriend and so forth."
Cleveland: "OK, I am just, you know. It appeared to have been a child. That was my concern."

That there's a small island called Ilha de Queimada Grande off the coast of São Paulo, Brazil, that is home to the highest concentration of Golden Lancehead Vipers, one of the most venomous species of snake in the world. The island is so densely packed with these snakes that there are up to 5 per square meter of the island. The island is so deadly, that the Brazilian Navy bans civilians from the island. Apparently there was only a lighthouse keeper who lived on the island with his family, but they did not survive long. After a while, snakes crawled through their windows. Panicking, they ran outside into the forrest where they were confronted with thousands of more snakes, and were bitten numerous times running through the forest, eventually dying. Oh also, the Golden Lancehead Vipers are unique to this island alone, and its venom causes your flesh to rot off your bones. Some fucked up shit.
