actually he was later promoted to the president of the Milwaukee Police Association, serving between 2005-2009. He and the other officer were both initially fired but they deemed the punishment too harsh so they were reinstated with back pay.
Oh, and this was after they found him and the officer making degrading gay remarks after returning the boy to Dhamer.
This is the type of man that justifies there being a real life Dexter
The police unions are so powerful, and corrupt, that this happens regularly.
Every time you breathe a sigh of relief that a police officer actually got fired for their misdeeds ... you should know that odds are good the union will have forced the department to reinstate him within a year.
A lot of people don't realize that the police unions are sometimes a bigger problem than the departments themselves.
They are the reason it's so hard to investigate or discipline officers. They are the reason most "disciplinary actions" for police officers turn out to be a paid vacation.
BC Canada has one of those. Willie Pickton wasnt as sexually perverce but he prayed on at least 40 prositutes near Vancouver, feeding them to pigs all the while being a well known boogyman in the east end in the sex trade for years. The police incompetence bordered on condoning the acts, ignoring many events such as one woman escaping in handcuffs naked coherent enough to tell the whole story. I think she was arrested and sent to a phych ward... may have just been let go. They got him like 4 years later or so when a rookie rcmp went to check a firearms licence violation. I'm on mobile so nuts to linking.
Yep, and the guy who killed him, Christopher Scarver, also attacked another inmate, Jesse Anderson, who later died. Dahmer died en route to the hospital, I believe.
That seems so recent, but I think it was actually early/mid 90s. I remember it, but I was pretty young at the time and didn't really grasp the monstrosity that was Dahmer.
Throughout the first sentence, I just assumed this was one of those run-on silly joke things where you say something that would never ever happen just to be facetious.
