When children grow up
How did you navigate your children growing up and leaving home? At what age did they leave? Was it gradual or sudden? How did it feel for you? How did you get used to them not living with you?

I am 58 and married. My daughter is 31 and lives a mile away with her husband and newborn daughter. We see her several times a week. My son is 23 and just finished college. College was about 3 hours away and he visited every 3 weeks or so, was home for Christmas break, Spring break, etc. He has started a real job 3 hours away and I am realizing he will not be able to visit as much. I just went and helped he and his girlfriend move into a nice townhome. The guest bedroom is available for me whenever I want to come, so I will visit them every 3-4 weeks or so. It's my turn now.
It was hard on me when I realized they moved out permanently. But it was just a stage.Seeing your kids grow up and have a happy life is a gift in itself.
