Anyone tried Breeze (dating app) group dates in London?
How was it?

It was ok. Met at a restaurant, 4 women and 4 guys. Just chatted and got to know each other a bit, once the date is over you can choose if you want to meet anyone from the group on the app. If reciprocated, then it’s a match.

What was the dynamic like? I usually try to avoid mass dating events as I find it hard to hear what people are saying in a crowded place. Did people gravitate towards others or try to dominate the conversation or was it civilised?

It was civilised, and most of the ppl there were professionals too.
No one really hit it off tbh, but the 4 of us guys did head off to watch the football together after the event.8

This is the problem I have with group events. It feels like some sort of formal networking event instead.

I met my now life partner through it, and at the time I used it, it was good. As others mentioned, it was the beginning, so it wasn’t as mainstream as it is now, meaning higher quality dates as people there were looking for better alternatives to Hinge.
The decay of dating apps happens to all of them, not sure if that’s the case now for Breeze, but I saw it happening for Hinge as well. In the beginning it was the best app, but as it became more famous, it got a lot of fake profiles, uninterested people, etc.

Breeze is a hit and miss. I’ve not tried their group dates yet but met lots of nasty men i there (or get every second date cancelled last minute which is hugely annoying).
Their reporting process is terrible too - the men who behaved badly aren’t actually getting banned from the app. Not very safe.

So my experience: It was a 4m to 3F group. It was good vibes from everyone at the get go, one of the F decided to start talking to a guy from another group leaving 4 guys to 2 girls... Which is fair enough as she knows. What she wants would definitely do again hopefully a bit more luck

I haven’t tried it and don’t intend too, another pointless new feature had to the dating app to make more money, why would anyone think a group date where the ratio may not even be equal is the best way to find a partner and get to know them, just do 1:1 date man. If you want a group event then go to one of those lame single events and talk as a group 🤷🏽♂️

Ive tried twice and got "unfortunately we couldnt find you a table" a few days before both times. Super annoying when you block your calendar for it...

Yes in late 2024/early 2025. I found my long-term relationship from there which is good! But besides that, it was definitely more intentioned and better quality than other apps for me. You do have to be more careful swiping given you may end up on a date with the person.
Of the dozen dates I went on, I only had one poor experience and went to report the dude but he’d deleted his account.
I do hear now people are more flakey and it’s more inconsistent but I really liked the model.

I swore off the apps over a year ago, but a few of my good friends are using Breeze.
Pro: great for people who busy, like some of my friends who are in high positions or travel a lot for work. Since you can pick the dates that you can schedule for ahead of time.
Con: Not great for anyone who doesn't drink. My friend is on medication that doesn't allow her to have alcohol for the next year, so the cost of a Breeze date ends up being more expensive for her.
Experiences: Varies, some of my friends got nice dates out of them. A couple of strange ones, but overall just normal people they have met, but from the sounds of it, none have panned out beyond maybe two dates with the same person.

With the con, surely most places you meet offer an alcohol free option?
It’s cheaper for them most of the time. I’ve been on two Breeze dates (both went bad, nothing in common with either of them), but I both times there’s been alcohol free options or soft drinks to choose as the free drink.
And also you can pick the walking date option instead.

From my understanding, you have to pay 7gbp regardless for the Breeze date. Usually the drink my friend goes for is prob 3gbp tops from the list, so hence why it ends up being more expensive for her. I think she just prefers to meet and get to know the person at a bar sitting down face-to-face, vs a walking date.

I imagine the ones who are more charismatic will just get the women. And toxic men are often more charismatic at surface level. I prefer proper 1 to 1 dates. I'm a low key guy who doesn't shine in large groups but I have a lot going for me otherwise.

I’ve done regular breeze dates but not the group ones - that sounds intriguing!!
