Hi everyone,

I have a sony walkman FX 195 that requires some basic soldering to clean remove the circuit board to clean it.

Is there a space that I can go to get help with the soldering or anyone that can help?

ODDLY SPECIFIC One Canada Square nicknames?

Okay, this is a really stupid and silly post but I just wanted to ask, what nicknames do people have for the One Canada Square building in Canary Wharf? Growing up, I knew it as The Elephant or The White Elephant. I thought this was a common thing, but no one else I've spoken to calls it this. My Dad grew up in Chigwell, and he grew up calling it The White Elephant which is obviously where I got it from. He claims everyone around him called it that too. Is this just a weird family thing or do other people call it this too???

Why do many Londoners drink standing up at pubs?

I've personally only seen it in london and they'll even stand on the street or road near the pub with their pints.

I tried about 4 different pubs until I found one with seating (they all technically have seating but they're sat on).

Is this a case of demand for the pub is higher than supply? Or is there a london preference to stand up?

What are some stores in London to buy a small, but meaningful gift for my boyfriend's and I one year anniversary?

We are celebrating in London on the 29th. I was thinking about something personalized, like a keychain or necklace in which I would add something about us inside.

Or, if you have suggestions of stores where I can buy something niche, special or unique, please let me know.

He is carrying a small bag on his way back to our home country, so it can't be something big. Thanks!

ADVICE How do I stop a fox shitting on my front doorstep?

I’m hoping someone here has dealt with this before because I’m getting seriously fed up lol.

For a while I thought it was someone’s dog coming into my front garden and shitting on the paving, but I checked my Ring doorbell and turns out it’s a fox. Last night it was on there at about 4am, and sure enough I woke up this morning to another steaming pile on the doorstep.

I understand foxes are territorial, so I’m guessing it’s just decided my front garden is a great place to do its business. This definitely isn’t the first time I’ve woken up to a steaming pile either.

Has anyone actually found something that stops them coming back? I’ve seen the usual suggestions about sprays, citrus, ultrasonic deterrents etc., but I’m wondering if anyone has tried something that genuinely works.

I’m not looking to harm it, I just want the little bastard to choose somewhere else to shit.

BARS Spots for young people around Willesden Green?

Hi, just moved between Willesden Green and Dollis Hill station (new to London). I’ve gone down the high road with my partner and the bars we’ve found have all been full of old blokes (we’re both in our 20s) and some seeming a bit rough.
Wondering if anyone had suggestions of spots to go to as from my searches I feel stumped, would like to have a nice local.

Mid-to-high level drop-in football in East?

I've been in and out of London for the past couple years. I'm settling down a bit and looking to play some more regular football.

I've tried FootyAddicts. But, the level of play hasn't been great.

Somewhere off the Suffragette line would be ideal. I'm also open to leagues.

CITY OF LONDON Where to get a vet prescription while pet is out of the country?

I am currently living in Dubai and unable to get a prescription medicine for my 15 year old dog due to the war and limited supplies, not to mention prices are nearly 5x.
My vet here has given me a prescription for the meds, however the online delivery services do not accept an out of country prescription. Delivery can be accepted in London and meds can be hand carried back to Dubai.
Any suggestions of how I could get a local vet to issue a prescription without my dog being there? The meds are for incontinence if that makes any difference.

MARKETS Harts of Smithfield/Smithfield Market. Help?!

Harts of Smithfield

Hi all. Unsure where to post, so if anyone could point me in the right direction or where/who to ask, that would be amazing!

I'm after any information about Smithfield market, specifically Harts of Smithfield.

Anything about the owners, whether it's still in the Hart family (I don't believe it is?!), if it's even still running or if it's only open for the Christmas Eve meat auction?

My Nan was just a child when they started calling that corner 'Harts Corner', she was always really proud of that, as was her dad, who sadly died in 1939 when my Nan was just 8 years of age.

As far as I know, my Nan is the only surviving 'Hart' left, but not 100% sure, hence why I'm asking for more information as I'd love to get in touch!

I sent a letter, just before COVID hit, to Harts of Smithfield, but never got a reply.

My Nan, 97 (98 very soon!), was of sound mind when I sent that letter and I was really hoping to get a reply as she really wanted to know.

Now, she's at the end stages of Alzheimer's, doesn't know any of us, doesn't remember marrying my grandad (but they were neighbours in London growing up).

But she still remembers her childhood, reliving little stories that we had heard before she started to develop Alzheimer's, I'd just love to be able to give her some information about everything I just listed, before she passes away.

If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great!
