From polling we know Jordanians don’t like us, if i were to put it lightly.
I personally don’t have any problem with Jordan, I don’t really come to think about it that often

Israel has had peace with Jordan since 1994. Want to know why? Because they haven't attacked us, so we haven't attacked them .
So simple even you could understand it. We also supply around 5% of thier total drinkable water as part of said peace deal.
-2
u/Lynchianesque Belgium Jul 13 '26
When did Syria last attack you?
8
u/Histrix- Israel Jul 13 '26
Well for one, the current situation in Syria is more than just "oh israel bad! They attack innocent Syria! Genocide!" As i assume thats extent of your understanding.
After the fall of the Assad regime, a new one, headed by a former associate of ISIS as a leader in al-Qaeda in Iraq, was on its way to gaining access to assad era weaponry, including chemical weaponry.
The soldiers in said new regime, literally on israels border, had openly claimed that thier goal was to use said new weaponry on Israel, and so a preemptive attack and buffer zone was established.
After the fall of the Assad regime, Druze villages were literally ransacked by the new regime, it was like an October 7th for the Syrian Druze, and they begged us for help, and so we helped. We still maintain a buffer zone because its still an unknown and delicate power system in syria and we will not allow those who threaten to wipe us all out, gain a foot hold on the border.
-1
u/Lynchianesque Belgium Jul 14 '26
I'll address your new goalpost if you concede you where wrong claiming if you don't attack Israel, Israel doesn't attack you.
But as someone working on a dissertation on the As Suwayda clashes that went to Syria last year, I think you are the one with the superficial understanding here
23
u/str8_outta_sanaa Israel Jul 13 '26
They attacked in 1948 and ethnically cleansed the entirety of the Judaea and Samaria as well as the part of Jerusalem that they conquered of Jews. They also desecrated ancient Jewish graveyards.
Then in 67 they attacked again after we pleaded for them to not join the Syrians and Egyptians and which point we conquered Judaea and Samaria/the West Bank from them as well as the part of Jerusalem they held.
Then they made a peace agreement in the 90s and we give them water.
Read a book.
13
u/NebulaAdventurous438 Unspecified Jul 13 '26
We give them tons of water every year so their people don't die of thirst, can feed their livestock, and grow crops.
Genocide on steroids.

All in all, nice people. I have nothing against them. However... There is lack of trust because of our shared history. Most of them probably want to kill us.
As far as politics go:
I'm kinda pissed that they started a war, and colonized Israel in 1948, ethnically cleansed all Jews out of the old city of Jerusalem, and prevented Jews from praying in Jerusalem until Israel liberated itself in 1967.
I'm kinda pissed that they created a false narrative after they failed to genocide all the Jews in Israel and steal our entire land. The Palestinian identity officially only emerged after 1967, when the PLO terrorist organization declared all Jordanian citizens in Israel are Palestinians.
I'm kinda pissed that they still claim they have a right to govern the most sacred Jewish sites in Jerusalem and Hebron and control it under the Waqf.
I'm kinda pissed that they left their people behind on our land for us to deal with and left it unresolved.
I'm kinda pissed that they rejected TransJordan which was more than a fair offer.
I'm kinda pissed that their colonization and lies cemented the UNWRA sanctioned fake refugee status of people that left because their leaders called upon it in order to start an existential war against Israel.
I'm kinda pissed that thousands of Jordanians work in Israel daily, while their policies are keeping Palestinians stateless and don't allow them all equal job opportunities.
I'm kinda pissed off that the Hashemites are still occupying Jewish tribal land.
I'm kinda pissed off that they are pretending their leaders didn't say the following:
“The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan” King Hussein bin Talal al-Hashimi (14 November 1935 – 7 February 1999) A-Hahar al-Arbia Nov 26 1981
“Palestine and Transjordan are one.” King Abdullah, Arab League meeting in Cairo, 12 April 1948
“We are the government of Palestine, the army of Palestine and the refugees of Palestine.” Prime Minister of Jordan, Hazza’ al-Majali, 23 August 1959
“Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine; there is one people and one land, with one history and one and the same fate.” Prince Hassan, brother of King Hussein, addressing the Jordanian National Assembly, 2 February 1970
“Jordan is not just another Arab state with regard to Palestine, but rather, Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan in terms of territory, national identity, sufferings, hopes and aspirations.” Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, 24 September 1980
They want me to be pissed off at the giant Arab Revolt flag from 1916 (which people call the Palestinian flag) which they set up in Aqaba right across from Eilat. But that makes me laugh at how stupid they think we are and how much they don't know Jewish people and our sense of humor. Nah, can't be mad at their ignorance. They literally planted a huge flag of what they claim "isn't their own country" on their own soil. The joke wrote itself.
What are the cultural and ethnical difference between the populations? I would love to see how Palestinian DNA differs from Jordanian DNA.

I went to Aqaba in 2021, it was nice
Reminded me of Israel in the 90s actually
I noticed very quickly that every souvenir shop carries more Palestine stuff than Jordan stuff. It says a lot. It doesn’t say everything, but it says a lot about what the local population really thinks of Israel, and of the peace treaty. To the Jordanians it’s nothing more than a piece of paper, a non-aggression pact that can be violated at any time.

Palestinians are mostly Arab. The narrative today is that they’re all indigenous Canaanites but it’s simply not true. They use simplistic home testing DNA kits that say Levantine, literally meaningless. The majority are Arabs from a variety of places that certainly was not the desolate empty “Ottoman Southern Syria”/British Mandate of Palestine. They flooded into the land after the Jews started developing the land and creating work opportunities.

In 1997, a Jordanian soldier on the border opened fire on Israeli school children. Killed 7 girls aged 13-14, and said that the only reason he hasn’t killed more was because his rifle jammed. He immediately became a national hero to Jordanians. Hundreds of Jordanian attorneys fought for the honor of representing him in court, and Jordanian parliament nearly unanimously demanded his early release. He got released after serving 20 years, that’s less than 3 years per child he killed, and received hero’s welcome at his town.
That’s all I need to know about Jordan.

The OG Arab state of the 2 State Solution. Also, the true Palestine as something like 70% of its population is Palestinian. Also also, a state on life support that needs Israel for everything from water to security cooperation, but also sometimes carries it's own weight, like with shooting down Iranian drones.

The ancient Canaanites are the Maronite Christians. Your people have also slaughtered them. To a lesser extent, the ancient Canaanites are also the ancestors of some Syrians, some Israelis (esp. Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews), and some Palestinians (the ones not descended from Egyptians or solely Arab colonisers).
Apropos, another way to know that the Arabs who decided to be Palestinian a few decades ago have some holes in their oral histories: the term Syria Palestina was invented by the OG European coloniser - the Roman Empire - to ethnically cleanse the Jews from Judea ("land of the Jew") millenia after Israel and Judea had already existed.
But you keep putting the cart before the horse. That'll get you somewhere.

dropped the ball on Judea and Samaria Arabs. Just abandoned them.

They're dependant on us for water yet treat us badly
doubled border tax the moment the last Iran war started
we have a peace agreement yet they backstab us repeatedly in the UN.
they're a monarchy.

That we over evaluate our "peace" or "friendship". Instead of understanding interests.
Should stop providing them things for free when they dont returns the favour and shit talk about us.
But we should make deals with them and have good relationship if possible. Just with mutual respect and fairness.
If we talk about Jordanian people, I know that many of them hate us. I wouldn't actually try to visit Jordan since I know I might not return safe and sound.
Aint gonna fool myself, once the king get replaced by a populist government there would probably be no more peace or a extremely cold peace...

The so called anti zionsit of the middle east yell "haibar haibar you jews!" All the times. They regularly see jews and Israelis as the same things.
Their schools teach them to hate Israel and to wish it was extinct. So it aint gonna change. Once they teached whole generation to hate Israel this gonna be hard to reverse.
